I took this picture last week and was going to use it for last Friday's Skywatch, but something else came up. I took it standing at my sliding glass door one evening last week. You can see the door on the right and I left it there because I wanted to emphasize the view I have from my back door. Plus that's as far as I could go without my camera getting wet. It was raining that evening, very gently, but the sun was bursting through that big cloud there. I took several pictures, but none of them showed any trace of the rain.
Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!
Welcome to SkyWatch Friday! There are some really great people who post even better photos on SWF.
ReplyDeleteI love the luminosity and pastel colors on the underside of those clouds in your photo; and the sunbeams are just great.
BTW, That's a beautiful view you have out your door!
If you have the opportunity please visit my SWF for some sunbeams as well.
Glad you joined...and your first picture for it is just the type of photo I love.
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty! I love the rural scene and the rays are beautiful.

SO GLAD you've finally decided to grace we SWFers with your more than qualified presence! Thank you!
Great first attempt
ReplyDeleteYour first attempt is very good! I like this photo: the sky is simply spectacular and the light is so nice!
ReplyDeleteSo you have already seen my huge scream of the "I'm back ... " and certainly you too have asked someone "what is he talking about" ... and someone just screamed: "Oh no, oh no ..." ...
ReplyDeleteBut guess what, I'm so happy. If I didn´t rejoin SWF I would never have the chance to see this great photo!
As for your question, I'm a plain and simple photographer that sometimes goes lucky ... and that sometimes plays with edition software ... so, please believe me when I say I haven´t the faintest idea on that technique ...
A very warm welcome to you Kate... my you said some nice thing about ol' womtig and Sky Watch...
ReplyDeleteYour picture is perfect for Sky Watch.. and I must say you have set your self a hard standard to follow... it's a delightful shot ..
Thank you.
Tom

ReplyDeleteThis is a great comnposition for your first SWF. Welcome.
ReplyDeleteThe three horizontal lines are a great base to your image and the streaming rays off to the right provide an interesting balance. A Nikon D80, eh? I will check that one out.

Great photo for sky watch!
ReplyDeleteFrom AnneKa in Norway
Fantastic photo, it is so hard to catch sun rays with a camera. How lucky you are to have seen nature playing beautiful games in the sky.
ReplyDeleteThanks for adding to sky watch friday.
Welcome to SWF! Yes, I know it's Tuesday but with so many to see...don't you just love this?
ReplyDeleteYour photo is beautiful and a perfect one for this! I can never get the rays to show and you've done an outstanding job!!
