View from the ground

So there I was on Easter Sunday morning, lying on the ground near the vegetable garden out back. My husband was working in the garden and I was helping by taking pictures.

I love the little surprises you see while laying on the ground.

I see something black and white running toward me. With a big pink tongue.

George sits down right next to me and begins to bask in the sun.

He looks up, as if to ponder the meaning of life. But I think it’s more likely he’s heard a squirrel.

I love you, George, is what I’m telling him here. You’re my Best Boy.

And then I put the camera back into the grass while George lies next to me.

I love crawling around in the dirt and getting dirty.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

I’m still on a road trip with my husband as you read this. Take care, friends.

  4. ...You're a girl after my own heart Kate! I too love to just lay down in the grass and look at the sky - it makes you feel like a kid again...lol And George is so well mannered! I could never lay down in the grass with our dogs, they would be all over me, stepping on me, laying on me, licking, and it would be non-stop 'til I got up...*sigh*

...That close-up shot of George while you're talking to him? Priceless! :o)

...Shame DH didn't have a camera to take a photo of you laying in the grass taking photos...lol Now THAT would've been totally priceless! lol...

    ...Blessings... :o)

  7. Great photos. I'm always afraid to get on the ground - Spiders. I'm terrified of them and if one got on me I'd kill myself getting up. You're very brave or you can move faster than I can. George looked good.

    Have fun!

  9. I love laying on the ground also, life looks and feels a little different when you change your perpective. Those little purple flowers pop up at my house too, like a pretty little gift from the earth.
Hope you are having a fabulously relaxing time

  12. A fellow garden blogger said the other day that digging in the dirt helps because it releases serotonin. So that's why gardeners are happy people!

  14. How cool is that to be flat out in the grass and see all these beautiful things? Great pics, rich purples and George's eyes just take the cake!

  15. Aw. That post makes me smile. Reminds me of playing in the grass barefooted when I was younger. *sigh* I'd be out there now without shoes on, but there's snow on the ground.

    I love George!
