Rainy day for babies

For so many years, more than I can remember, this is what Spring meant to me. Rainy days and foals. Or just foals with no rainy days. But always, always foals.

I enjoy looking at my old picture files. And don’t get me wrong, because I am NOT feeling sorry for myself and what life has dealt us. I simply enjoy looking at my old pictures.

Look at how the mane is curling. Just like my hair does on humid days.

It makes me happy just looking at these little fellas! These are all thoroughbreds and were taken where my husband used to work, at Northview Stallion Station in Chesapeake City, MD.

George was much younger then. I wouldn’t get too close if I were that foal.

Rainy day, dream away. And everything’s gonna be okay.

(and as long as I’m rhyming) That’s about all I’ve got for today.

Have a wonderful day, all. Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Will we ever see the sun?

  2. Love the mane and looking at foals...such long gangly legs. Hard to believe they grow up to be such graceful movers.

  8. My sister had 15 horses.. she would have foals every year and LOVED that life. She now has only 3 or 5... cant remember, but she boards them all away from her ranch. Without her husband it just became too much work... so now she has the 2 miniature donkeys and adores them... they make her laugh so it's a good thing. Sometimes life just changes in a nano-second and you just have to go with it as I'm sure you can attest.

    Take care,
    The Blue Ridge Gal
