Yesterday, while washing my hands at the kitchen sink, I noticed this little vignette and I’m sharing it with you because I just like the colors.
It probably would have looked nicer if I had arranged things, but lah-de-dah.
I love my hand soap from Kiehl’s because it smells like pears. The yellow mums had broken off from one of the plants as I tried to transplant it, so I popped it into one of my favorite little vases. I bought this one in Ocracoke a few years ago. The wine bottle is empty, but it was very tasty and is one of my husband’s favorites. The vegetables are from the garden which is still producing cherry tomatoes and red peppers. And the bowl of tomatoes is something I fixed real quick as a side for our dinner last night.
Tomatoes on the Side
Sliced Roma tomatoes
Toasted Pine Nuts, about 1/8 cup
Fresh Basil, about 1 Tbsp.
Olive Oil, about 1 Tbsp.
Salt & Pepper & some Mrs. Dash’s
Just mix it all together. It’s really light and refreshing.

ReplyDeleteLove the Pear Tree Corner Kiehl's bath/shower gel .. oh la la .. and there's a scrub, I love scrubs .. I hadnt thought about buying the hand soap .. .ummm... gotta go to BB&B today to replace all the wash cloths and dish towels .. did you know carpet moths love nice terry cloth as well as they love cashmere? Yup.

I want to dive headfirst into that scene. Or at least that bowl of tomatoes on the side.
ReplyDeleteYummie looks delicious if only I wasn't alergic to Olive Oil... I make this recepy with regular sunflower oil and it tast just fine too.

ReplyDeleteWonderful photograph. I love the 'ordinary' things in life. Isn't it great that we cherish those things simple in our life. Your pepper and tomatoes look delicious. I make your tomato salad but add feta cheese, fresh seeded cucumber and a smidgeon of balsamic vinegar.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great recipe. I always just do tomatoes with mozzarella and Imo's itialian dressing, but I'm gonna give this a shot. Sounds yummy!

Ralph was so cute...as cute as George....and I didn't know that Kiehl's made anything with pears...it must smell wonderful and I love Kiehl's products...their face cream has kept the wrinkles away for years now....
