Disengaged

Sometimes I have nothing to say. Tonight is one of those times, so I’ll leave you with a photo I took in nearby Havre de Grace a couple of weekends ago.

It was bitter cold. And my fingers were freezing when I had them out to take shots of the gulls.

I’m working on some notecards that I’m thinking of selling on my etsy site. But before I do, I think I’ll give some of them away, so stay tuned.

Have a beautiful day, all. I loved reading all the answers to your questions the other day. Thanks for stopping by.

A picture is worth 1000 words they say, so you've said a mouthful this evening with your beautiful photo! I think notecards are a wonderful idea!

Awesome photo! Yes, notecards are a wonderful idea! I would love to see some spring photos used for notecards. Hey, I see where PW is doing a 'flower' contest now!

Weather report: Rainy, rainy, rainy, warm, cool, cold, warm, cool, cold! We are all sick down here with the crud because of this weather!

You never need to say anything, CG, as long as you ALWAYS leave us with a splendid photo as a replacement for your jewels of wisdom.
(wanna smack me yet?!)
Seriously tho, this gull photo MUST be made into a notecard...AND...you MUST print that "true friend" quote on it and then may I please buy five of them? I'd buy more but I don't have that many true friends.
Never met ya, but luv ya muchly ;>}

I find it really hard to capture flying things so you are really clever. Lovely shot!

often, many of us have nothing to say. it takes a brave woman to admit that. i adore that about you !

and actually i'm kind of that way today, too....

for me, i'm busy soaking in life. savoring it actually. and when that happens, my words like to stay in a safe little spot in my heart.....

Beautiful image and texture work. Sometimes a photo is all that's needed; I like to speak through them sometimes, too. Hope you have a great day!

Lovely photo ! To help my hands stay warm when taking photos in the cold I wear the small knited looking gloves the ones that one size fits all you can get them at discount and dollar stores they are great cause they are warm and not bulky so you can work the camera ! Maybe they will work for you when out in the cold photographing if you get them in your neck of the woods. Have a great day !

Ok, I'll try to stay tuned.... love this shot of the gulls and esp the effect you applied to it. On my dream list - to get Photoshop (not Elements which I already have!) and to relearn PS -- learning it in my 20s and then never using it means I've lost most of it. I would love to do more with my photography, like you've done.

You without something to say???? ;-) Ok, just giving you a hard time...Kate- REALLY, it's OK to be quiet every now and then, especially when you leave us with such beautiful photography...wish I was smart enough to learn how to do those neat texture techniques..just love how your photo looks like a painting...beautiful.
Oh and what's this...hinting toward a giveaway are we??? Hmmm, guess we're all thinking on the same wave lengths these days ;-))hehehe...have an enjoyably quiet evening...

Hello Kate, I visit regularly but don't often comment mainly because others have already "stolen" what i want to say. But today I just have to say WOW; what a great shot and treatment and a lovely quote as a bonus. Thank you!!! I am having to send this "anonymous" as Google is fighting me when I try to log in - I don't have this problem with others - maybe that is another reason I don't comment often. Oh well, I can at least enjoy your lovely blog without logging in.

You need a pair of those gloves with the thing-a-ma-jigg on the finger tip so you can scroll/turn on iPod, iPad and any other touch screen ... and/or you need some of those fingerless gloves ... or maybe ...

Nice texture! I am in the middle of taking a Kim Klassen ecourse on Photoshop ...one reason I haven't been around much is because that and the Picture Winter workshop I'm taking have been taking up so much time... You are my inspiration!

The photo was well worth the freezy fingers and very well timed too I might add! And oh yes, your photography on notecards would be wonderful! ~Lili
