Crystals had formed during the night, making beautiful patterns on the storm windows in the bedroom.
So, of course, I ran down the stairs to get the camera.
The sun was just coming up.
And this beauty was left just for me.
And I love the colors.
Nothing altered here. Just the colors of the morning against the frosty panes of glass.
And life is good.

Spectacular Kate! It's one of those fleeting, rare moments that is always fun to capture. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Sometimes au naturel beats anything you could do with photoshop.
ReplyDeleteNice work!
Beautiful! Glad you were able to capture it with your camera.
ReplyDeleteAbsolute perfection! A tiny, perfect miracle display. :)
ReplyDeletewow, those are beautiful.......your house reminds me of the studio......get the same thing on the storms. Maybe not so efficient, but sure pretty.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kate. I'm just getting back on the computer, and these pictures were a lovely way to return. Thanks for your well wishes!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
I cannot imagine waking up to ice crystals on the window. If this were to happen in my bedroom, I doubt I could leave the warmth of my covers.
ReplyDeleteoh Kate those are just beautiful..
ReplyDelete*gasps* these are gorgeous! I'm so glad you did get your camera as the sun was coming up and that you decided to share this beauty with us!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! :D
ReplyDeleteNot only the colors, but the shapes those crystals make is other-worldly. To see them juxtaposed against that sun is simply incredible. How gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWilson "Snowflake" Bentley would be proud. There is a museum with all his snowflake photographs in Vermont.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS!! That is the most gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI may have to get up early tomorrow...
Really really wonderful.
Wow..just beautiful. Nature is kind to you. A great way to wake up. You captured it wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that I LOVE these photos. Love them. What a perfect moment to grab your camera and watching the "sun rise" through the sequence is great. My windows haven't given me such beautiful frost patterns this year, but just a full thick coat instead of designs.

Nature really was kind to me today ~

Sigh. Such beauty. I find myself unable to blog unless I have a good picture to kick-start the process, and I fear my standards for a "good picture" have been raised unreasonably high by following blogs such as yours. Ppphhttt!
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is the only way I'm gonna get to see the sun rise! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat series of shots, and so early in the morning! Reminded me of Stevie Wonder's Stay Gold:
ReplyDelete"But can it be
When we can see
So vividly
A memory
And yes you say
So must the day
Too, fade away
And leave a ray of sun
So gold"
I hope you put these in your shop Kate! They are simply stunning!...What a gorgeous series they would make! I don't think I have used quite enough exclamation points:)
ReplyDelete...when we replaced our old windows with new efficient thermal paned windows they told us our heating bills would go down...but no one told me I would never see frost patterns again:(
What a beautiful series of photos for your morning wake up call. Spectacular. You have a lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Really breathtaking shots. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh... how absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for being an early riser!
Helen

ReplyDeletethat looks cold and warm all at the same time.. very beautiful
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I would like it to be cold enough for me to snap a shot or two like these but I cant, not honestly. I hate the cold .. and I think its not to thrilled with me. So its nice to have a friend whose icy mornings can be shared from a nice cozy warm distance..
