My sunshine

Sitting here in my favorite spot on a cold Monday night, not really watching Jeopardy, although my husband is. George is having his dinner in the other room; I know this because I can hear his tag clanging on the bowl. Soon he’ll be in here, rolling around on his back, which I’ve discovered is actually his way of wiping his face after the meal. It just looks like he’s rolling on his back.

I opened the photos on the camera disk today to find these two lovely shots, taken  by my husband yesterday morning while I slept through a beautiful pink sunrise.

My sunshine doesn't come from the skies,
It comes from the love in my dog's eyes.

Unknown Poet

People write and tell me how much they love coming here, to this little blog of mine. But so many of them admit that although they love the landscapes and nature photography, it’s George they really love.

And I’m absolutely fine with that. In fact, I love it. Because it’s George that I really love, as well.

but you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog.

  8. Beautiful photos and quotes. I'm pondering whether to send the link to a friend who lost her dog to heart failure this morning. I know she would agree, but it might crush her heart even further. Fortunately she has a second dog (and several inside cats) to be with her as she mourns....

  9. Apple pie, flowers, birds, tea, George, national parks, Amish Country, watermelon plants--there are millions of reasons I come here, but all of them have to do with escaping.

Yours is the perfect place to visit to get away from it all, no matter what the subject.

George really is very photogenic, and your husband is becoming quite the photographer.

    I guess I'm a 'stalker' LOL!!
Please tell your hubby well done on the pictures of George with a pink morning hue. Once I saw a stand up comic on tv...she said when she could find a man as happy to see her as her dog, she'd marry that man.
    LOL

  31. OH my gosh! Zoey comes in rubs her face on the couch then rolls on her back just like George! She is so funny, when I see her coming, I will say, "don't you wipe your face on my couch!" and give her "the eye". She stops and looks at me for awhile. I can almost see her visibly sigh, but she always always rubs the floor!

I come to your blog for you, but your photos and George are a bonus! :)

  32. LOL ... George rolling around to wipe his face sounds cute. :) He really is a gorgeous boy.

  33. My dogs are the light in the darkness that life can throw my way. Each morning they smile at me. They are just the best in a crazy world.

George is beautiful and fun and I love seeing his photos.

Your home and the woods near you are fabulous too. Your photos are amazing. Your life stories and adventures are too.

I come to read you because I like you and I like your dog.

  37. What a beautiful light. I love me some George, too. Those are awesome quotes. I would dearly love to add a canine into the mix here in our happy little home, if only my lifestyle permitted it. Soon. Soon.

  38. what a great companion George is. Animals always fill that void that sometimes people can't. We had to give our cat away 2 wks ago and I still catch myself looking around when I come home to see if she is running to the door. I esp. miss her snuggles at night when I was reading in bed. "sigh"

  39. Lovely Pink George! What an amazing sunrise it must have been...I have to admit that I don't see many of them since I quit work:)

Recently heard a hilarious song on NPR music called – "Not Everybody Loves Your Doggie Like You Do" by David Dondero...I am sure he never met George before he wrote that song! If you want a laugh find it and listen:)

    xo to you and George

  44. I am just floored by the eyes quote.
This morning I was hugging my little bestest friend , stunned at the bokeh in his half closed eyes from the sun coming in on us. Or from him. Or the love .
It's all so wonderful . Who knew?
