I saw autumn in the misty morn

A thick fog blanketed my part of the world this morning and I just happened to have my camera with me.

The first thing I saw when I pulled into the school driveway was this spider web along the fence line.

I used the macro lens for these first two shots.

And then the school came into view.

You can hardly see the building from this vantage point, the fog was so thick.

It was a little difficult to get shots without cars because it was morning drop-off time.

The middle school flag brigade has already gotten their job done.

Parents were driving by and waving, many rolled down their windows to tell me either that they wished they had their cameras, or that I was lucky to have brought mine. I think many of us were awed at the beauty of this morning, and the school building enshrouded in the mist.

The mist and the dew thick on the grass made the morning special.

And I’m glad to call this place home.

    Wow. Those are great pictures. Fog is scary to drive in. I used to drive school bus. I think my favorite picture is the spider web. Good job~!

    the second to last is my fave...don't know why....something about the lamp posts. But I love them all. Looks like the school for XMen or something mysterious like that!!! As always, thanks for sharing....

    So beyond beautiful! Today, in Oregon, it was a similiar type of morning. This afternoon, as I drove to pick my daughter up from school, I saw leaves changing on the trees outside of her school for the first time. It was gorgeous! Fall is my favorite time of the year. Football, hearty meals, shorter days, fire in the fireplace and no better place to be than home!

    Thank you for this post. And the spider web shots? Unreal!

    ...Those spider web photos are simply spectacular! That is one of my fav' things, for some odd reason, is spider webs. :o)

    ...That school is so pretty, I just love it when you feature photos of it here. You're so blessed to live and work where you do. Love the photos too of your school shrouded in fog, beautiful!

    I love the Webs Kate and the color is amazing on them. Love your post as always and your photography. Lovely Mist. Just love it. We dont get eonugh here so when I see it I do enjoy.

    Makes me think of waking up early in the morning as a kid and finding out that school was delayed for fog. Those mornings were almost as amazing as snow days. :)
