Outside my window it’s dark and chilly.
I am thinking that I’ve put off paying the monthly bills long enough.
I am thankful that I can pay the monthly bills.
From the kitchen come the sounds of silence. We just finished dinner and I was hoping for dessert.
I am wearing Black jeans from Chico’s, gray lambswool v-neck sweater, a scarf, and a long sleeveless thick knit Ann Taylor sweater.
I am reading The Book Thief. Very interesting.
I am going to get my monthly bills paid in time to watch the last episode of 30 Rock which comes on at 8:00.
I am creating a montage of photographs to share with you after this post.
I am hoping that my husband can get his hearing restored.
I am hearing an annoying commercial about Celebrex.
Around the room are the remnants of George’s last fetch game. I have got to get him to pick up his toys.
One of my favorite things is having my husband make dinner for me.
A few plans for the rest of the week – or rather the weekend, include the possibility of seeing a movie.
Here is picture thought I am sharing.
I took these last year at this time on the property where I live with my husband and a dog named George.
How are things in your neck of the woods?
It's been rainy here. When isn't it though ... very quiet today except when Jodie Belle goes outside and barks at any noise from our woods. She's very good at that. Me, I give her a few minutes and tell her to come back in.
ReplyDeleteDark and chilly! And I'm reading Gone Girl. Interesting. Weird. I don't know if I like it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty collage! Lovely winter scenes. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeletelove the pictures. It is very cold here. High tomorrow is suppose to be 5 with wind chills in the minus teens.
ReplyDeleteCold and windy here in the Finger Lakes. Yesterday we had spring for a day, today we are back to winter. I am definitely ready for spring :)
ReplyDeletecool fresh new format for today's post. Gotta try something like this

Our neck of the woods is gloomy, windy , cold and snowy no sun for a week ! Pretty quite here at the Our Country Cove Lovely photos and post . Your header photo is pretty ! Stay cozy and have a good evening !
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe just returned from my daughter's final basketball game. They were undefeated the whole season!
Things here are quite pleasant, largely due to your potato soup that I made for dinner last night and had again as "left-overs" tonight. I LOVED the addition of the bacon and I added a dollop of sour cream and some chopped chives on top, too. YUM! YUM! YUM! and a BIG thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr.... Super windy and freezing here, I'm the only one awake in front of the fire, I have a sleeping husband, three cats and a dog all snoring around me.
ReplyDeleteI hope George is feeling better, our dog had a similar thing last year and the mess cleared it all up, no more Nyla bones for him though. And I have my fingers crossed for your husband as well.
Things are going well in my neck of the woods. I am celebrating the birth of my son, 40 yrs. ago...he has grown into a wonderful husband, father of 2 of my 11 grandloves, has a sweet, loving wife, a successful business anticipating retirement...life is fun.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Snowing again. Got 3 grandkids off bus. When hubby got home 1 granddaughter & I went back to work to do month end. Then to grocery store for us & my parents. It started snowing & blowing like crazy-got an inch pretty quickly. Reading Safehaven.
ReplyDeleteIf weather cooperates going to Owensboro, KY for night tomorrow for fiber group (knit, spin, crochet, sew, weave). Then 2 friends coming to my house to quilt Saturday when I get home.
Beautiful, serene images!
ReplyDeleteBest well wishes to your husband,
Merisi
Oh I LOVE this Kate ..... what a great idea! and always LOVE your pics! I've been diving into some of mine from WAY back in 2008 - I'm having fun with that :)
ReplyDeleteThis was such a fun post to read. Snippets of your life. I think it should be a regular.
ReplyDeleteWe actually got some lasting snow last night. I love snow, so this transplanted Yankee living in TN is a happy girl this morning. It won't last more than a few hours, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteI'm plunging deeper into a vocational crisis that is beginning to cause me great anxiety. I'm praying a lot, others are praying for me, and I have sought the wisdom of professionals on this matter. In the end, it's my work to do, but I am so STUCK! I had to express this somewhere, so thanks for listening.
Have a great weekend, Kate! (and hubby and George and cat)
Oh goodie, another book recommendation. I'm enjoying The Thirteenth Tale, so far.
ReplyDeleteLove your montage!

A Glowing Ember
life here is okay ...
ReplyDeleteI love the way the squirrel and bird are looking the same way.
ReplyDeleteI've done that drawing of the Northern Spotted Owl at last! It's on the blog at the moment and I'd love to send you a copy when I get the printing sorted out. If you send your address to my email I'll get it in the post as soon as it's ready.
It's emparko@gmail.com. Have a great weekend! x
Chilly here in Brantford...keep turning up the thermometer and it still feels cold. Maybe warm fuzzy socks will help? Or potato soup? Hubby is down and out again with a migraine - its like watching a little one sleep.
ReplyDeletePauline in Brantford
love your pictures. Love the red barn. We were cold today, tomorrow should be nice. This up and down weather is wreaking havoc on my allergies!
ReplyDeleteIt's freezing in this neck of the woods. Went to dinner tonight with an friend from high school and her sister up from sunny Florida...others showed up....too noisy in the bar/restaurant...too many drinking too much...hated it...glad to be home! LOL..thanks for letting me say that...I was holding those thoughts in all evening. Sigh...enjoy the weekend! And love the photos!
ReplyDeletethe month of January has gone by in a flurry of family visits and HOT weather, rain, CYCLONES, FLOODS, no POWER for a few days, etc etc. All very exciting, well, the family visits were, not the weather events .. and exhausting!
ReplyDeleteAlways good to catch up here Kate. Love the new header! Very wintry!
Brrrrr...it's chilly out there today.... but bright and shiny at the same time....grateful for the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of dry air....my sinuses suffer this time of year, how about yours?
I love your photographs! ALL of them....smiles....
lovely change of header photo - it looks cold over with you!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you wrote this one - it is like a celebration of NOW! i am trying to live more in the present - to really be here, with whatever is happening or not. And reading your words makes me see how rich is the moment.
Lovely photos - you are clever! Yes!!
lots of love and I hope dessert arrived K x
I'm so behind in blog reading and I see that things have kept you hopping in your neck of the woods. I hope all turns out best for you, dear Kate. All is pretty much status quo around here.
ReplyDeletelOVE your new header Kate. It's ChemTrail cloudy day and makes everything very gloomy. But I felt well enough to get some trimming of some of the forest done. We live in the middle of a thick Piñon Forest, so we are trimming off lower branches so we can see further out. After my last post about the little coyote visiting our compost pile, I realized I could have had even more shots of her if the trees were trimmed around the spot we dump our kitchen compost.
ReplyDeleteSo it is a tad bit warmer, but I was really hoping for some bright New Mexico sky today. Tomorrow is another day, so maybe then.
Hope the rest of your weekend is filled with homemade dinners and dessert too.
peace n abundance,
CheyAnne
ps that little squirrel is adorable
Kinda dreary and chilly here in Tidewater, VA. Hubby's going to play music with friends but I just don't feel like playing and singing tonight. Stay home, and find something on Hulu to watch, because there's nothing on TV!! Have a good weekend, Kate--love your new header and the montage!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love these images! xoxo
ReplyDeletel always enjoy your photos and as its deep summer here and our lanscape is dreary brown from lack of rain, l would love to go for a walk in your snow covered lanscape. l too have read the Book Thief, its a wonderful read. Hope you enjoyed it. Reading a book called In Falling Snow at the moment. See! trying to imagine myself there.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get into the Book Thief. I am a million years behind everyone else and just finished The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. OMW, I gasped out loud! On to The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society....got good reviews from my friends. :)
ReplyDeletewonderful photos! i hate the bill paying, i love seeing the money in the account and not leaving it but such is life. never skip dessert! its the best part of eating all your food. and its soo calming..:>
ReplyDeleteFor some reason this post briefly reminded me of Startrek...you are so cute! Oh I believe we are expecting the blizzard of the century around these parts. Nice collage of snowy pics! xo
