But not as cold as it is where Russell and Jeannelle live.

And I love Assateague, Russell. It's where I go to the beach. There's a state park and a national park (I prefer the national one, it allows dogs and it's got a nicer beach). Maybe I'll do a post from there soon.

~C.G.Country Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14432335393660130255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4296284051502496327.post-28955666717033409082008-02-19T10:07:00.000-05:002008-02-19T10:07:00.000-05:00Okay! Out here in the windswept plains of Iowa (corn not potatoes!!) we are recovering from another blizzard!

We had lots of snow this weekend then yesterday and today we are dealing with cold, cold and cold!!

But I did notice the snow is getting a bit wetter and heavier - that is a sign spring is coming. I also notice we are having more sunlight - so it is not dark at 6 p.m. any more (maybe 6:01 but not 6:00!!).

Our family traveled to Washington, D.C. and then over to Maryland (Ocean City, etc.) in 2001. It was beautiful country. We went down to Assateague State Park to see the ponies since our daughter had read the Misty books.

I noticed all the flowers, trees, etc. were a good month to 6 weeks ahead of us. That means, in my book, you must get about 12 more weeks (3 months!) more spring and fall that we do!! Sounds good to me!!

Take care and enjoy that great weather!Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11072219347283927398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4296284051502496327.post-10426751796639887022008-02-19T09:40:00.000-05:002008-02-19T09:40:00.000-05:00Okay, we will be at 20 degrees and below with seve...Okay, we will be at 20 degrees and below with several layers of ice; nevertheless, I'm glad I found your blog and your beautiful photography. Our weather was warm enough today that one little purple crocus poked her head out from the soil......and promptly got trampled by our dog. Drat!

But glad to hear that you experienced some lovely warmth, if even for a few hours. It was foggy this morning but cleared up to be brilliant - now the fog is rolling in again. People were riding in convertibles here yesterday and today, and some folks were in shorts and shirt sleeves (I think they were a little too optimistic for me, however...)

So, why would anyone want to live inland, when they can live on the West Coast or the East Coast and have such great weather?

Did you know we have palm trees here in Vancouver? Yes we do. :-)Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06979114933441527890noreply@blogger.com
