Adrienne wanted me to take a silhouette of a tree. It didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked, but nonetheless, here it is for what it's worth.
George was happy because he had more people to play fetch with.
We cleaned out some rooms and packed some things away. I guess you could call it fall cleaning. I took them on a ride over to the historic place I mentioned last week. They also helped me choose the contest (see below) winners. Lots of entries this time and thanks to all who participated! Just a long, quiet weekend with beautiful weather.
Well, it's back to work today. How was your weekend? Anything fun happening in your neck of the woods?
Wonderful faces, all three.
ReplyDeleteNice photos...
ReplyDeleteI spent the weekend with my daughter, she was home from college...we made cake balls....post is up....it was a nice day.
Have a great week.
Lovely shots.. all sunny and golden.
ReplyDeleteIt was a long weekend here (Thanksgiving) and my son was home for it. I'm back into missing him mode until Christmas.
very nice weekend ~ your pup looked happy!
ReplyDeleteMy son was home, too. We spent the weekend cooking all his favorite meals, so that he could get his fill before returning to a life of Cheerios and pizza. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the portraits of your friends -- beautiful!
xoxo,
Mary
Aren't friends just the best? Beautiful women, those two.
ReplyDeleteFriends are everything to me. More important than food. Beautiful shots as always. xoxo, Lauren
ReplyDeleteDitto Lauren's comment...friends and family are everything to me. As you know, I spent a glorious long weekend with two friends and my daughter in Connecticut. What a blast we had! I learned so much my head is spinning. I hope to get a post on my blog this evening. First things first, I had to empty my suitcases and get laundry done. Clean underwear was my #1 priority last night :)
ReplyDeleteGood golly! How could you have a contest for one of your photos while I was away?? Are you planning to have another contest soon? I would dearly love one of your photos, Kate.
Miss you! {{hugs}}
I'm going on vacation (staycation = staying home but not going to work)starting this Friday. I haven't had a vacation in 5 years.
ReplyDeleteSeriously! FIVE YEARS!
:)
Beautiful portraits of both, Kate! You can easily see that they are mother and daughter. :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have friends visit, a very special time that you well enjoyed I'm sure. I think your silhouette turned out beautifully! We had friends visit also, always nice.
ReplyDeleteHere in UK it has been an awful Summer but at the weekend it was lovely warm Autumn sun so we gardened all week end, planting bulbs, weeding, sitting and admiring our handiwork - generally relaxing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely weekend. It is turning cold here - looking across our yard... the leaves are an assortment of colors, still mostly green with several yellow, oranges and browns thrown in. I love fall.
ReplyDeleteBring on the turtlenecks!! Seriously, anything to help hide my double chin.
So glad you had a great weekend. We had SNOW. In OCTOBER. I think Mother Nature is loosing it.
ReplyDelete*hugs*
Oh George, you are SO cute.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of the tree whether you think so or not.
So there.
:-Daryl
How nice to have an overnight with friends. I really like the silhouette of the tree and George is the best! I'm from Pennsylvania also.
ReplyDeleteSweetie

ReplyDeleteHartmut
It is always nice to have company..and friends from old are the best....mine all arrives at once usually...the kids are all coming home for a week in December!! There will be 15 of us..7 adults and 8 grandchildren under the age of 8!! We will be having some time at the beach..can't wait! (I live in Australia for people reading this who don't know me!)
ReplyDeleteMy weekend activities are on my blog...a concert and a trip to the botanic gardens for some interesting flower shots.
Trees are very difficult to photograph I find..you have done well, Kate!
Annie
I like the tree shot. This weekend was nice enough, but today is what I was waiting for - my youngest son gets home from Greece tonight! I can't wait to see him.
ReplyDeleteYour friends hepled you clean? Nice.
ReplyDeleteIs the light at your place always this beautiful? I think some people bring that light on themselves, or maybe they're just out there with their faces tipped up daring it to bring it on!
