The Noreply-Comment@Blogger.com blues

Before I say anything, I want to tell you that the GIVEAWAY is still going on until Wed., Feb. 3 at 6 PM. I’m housecleaning and getting rid of a few things I don’t need. See post below.

Bloggers out there ~ you’ve seen it. It’s the ‘Noreply-Comment@Blogger.com’ message that appears sometimes after you click on reply to a reader’s comment.

I often respond directly to reader’s comments, but there’s that little grinch who always seems to show up like an unwanted guest when I have something I really want to say to someone.

There is a way to help rid this little problem and it’s so easy to do. Readers who have blogs can do the following:

  • Open your blog and click on the Customize link. It’s in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  • Click on the Dashboard link, also in the upper right hand corner.
  • Now click on Edit Profile, on the left hand size of the screen right next to your picture.
  • This takes you to the Edit User Profile screen.
  • Look in the Privacy section.
  • Check the box that says, “Show my e-mail address”.
  • In the Identity section, enter in an e-mail address.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on Save Profile.

And that’s how it’s done. This will rid the world of Noreply-Comment@Blogger.com. Unless you wish to remain stealth, of course. And that I will understand.

I guess.

We may get a little snow tonight. Just a little. But that’s what they said last week. So until tomorrow, my friends . . .

  1. Thanks so much for posting about this...I thought it was just "me" and that I was the only one getting this! I've thought many times that I had replied to someone, only to find out it went winging it's way into cyberspace never to be heard from again!

  9. OMG, you have no idea how long I have pondered why in the world I was getting these no-reply comments and the rest of the world was able to respond via e-mail directly to each commenter. THANK YOU so much for sharing this.

  12. Kate, I, too, get annoyed with this because I would much rather reply directly through email. One thing that I thought of, just yesterday, was that we can visit those who often comment on our blogs...and see if they share their email address on their profile...then add it to our address list in our email program so that their name appears just as it would if it were received as a comment.

I had no idea that we (on our own end) could change a setting that would allow us to share that email with friends in the way you've shown.

    hmmm :)

  15. Thank you for doing this it is a public service here in Blogdom .. I find many people comment that way and I cant reply to them .. very frustrating for a yenta like me ..

Took a similar shot this morning on the way to the bus .. used the little P&S so I cant 'see' it til I get home ..of course it wont be as wonderful as yours but ...

  17. I have another question for you, Kate. How do you get your pictures so lovely and large on your site? Even when I choose the largest format, they show up as teeny, tiny, iddy, biddy pictures.

  22. Thanks for the info! I just found your blog today and I love your photos and your dog. Isn't it funny how we love our dogs! My dog has turned into a couch dog also .... it was a slow progression. At first she was NOT allowed on any furniture and now we cover her up with a quilt when she looks cold.
