We’ll take a cup ‘o kindness yet

I created this video last week to post while I was away. And then, of course, the snow came . . .

The video is a compilation of several of my photos from 2010, beginning with January and ending last week. It was difficult to fit my favorites in, and very time-consuming to sort them all out and get them in the right order, and although I’m not thrilled with the end result, I’m happy with it.

And that’s enough for now.

I fell completely in love with this song after hearing it in a movie. And it’s a perfect fit here, I believe. I was glad to have found it to download.

I want to thank each and every one of you who visits me here, whether or not your make your voice heard. I think we all need to take a cup ‘o kindness ~ for Auld Lang Syne.

Here’s hoping your new year is filled with love.

  19. That was wonderful Kate. Loved it. Much as I loved all the photos, I especially loved the (setting?) sun streaming across the grass through the trees. Also the beautiful little blue bird towards the end, followed by the snow covered branch.
Thank you. And thinking of you for 2011.

  23. Happy New year to you and yours, Kate.

Lovely complilation of photos, and the music is spot on. i remember listening to the "director's commentary" on the DVD/movie (the commentary was better than the movie IMHO) and they went on about the singer. I'll have to remember to do a look-up on her.

  29. Hi Kate - What program did you use to create your slide show? I've spent the week making a power point (MS Word) on my Mac, and now I realize I don't think I can burn it to a DVD to play on a TV. Should have used Keynote or iMovie. So just wondering what program you used.

The photos in the slide show are so beautiful. Love your birds. Thank you.

To Nancy in KS ~ I couldn't reply directly (your e-mail isn't enabled for me in your profile) but I will tell you that I used Windows Live Movie Maker. I've got a PC. Good luck!

  31. This is my first time to your blog and I am so excited. I love bird photographs and I love - I mean crazy love dogs (although I don't think I will ever be brave enough to own the energy of a border collie!) I will be back from more!

  46. Kate, I know you did not sit down and tell yourself that you would make this video just for me...but what I want you to know is that it certainly feels that way (and for many others judging from their comments). After I watched it once, than I watched it again, and again....then I had to share it with my husband....he loved it as well. I know you are merely "happy" with it...but I think it is just totally wonderful!
Mairi's voice is so perfect for the song...and the song so perfect for your art. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  50. Kate ~
    This just made me cry.

pierced me right through. I listened to the song from a FB link yesterday for the first time ( have a soft spot for anything Celtic, even the years my girls competed in Highland Dancing I never tired of it on endless repeat)

so to combine the beauty of that... with your photos, the seasons gently rolling over my soul.... I don't have words. I don't.

thank you from the bottom of my heart.
