Winter arrives on silvery-toed slippers of snow

A couple of snow pictures for you. Just two today ~ I took them early this morning while the light was still sweet.

Today I accomplished everything on my list. Maybe if I made bigger lists I would get more done but I’m not really sure I want a bigger list.

Pioneer Woman is having another of her photo assignments and this time it’s food photography. Looking in my files, I see that there many more photos like the ones in this post than there are of food.

But I entered one anyway.

Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow,
And we, we were children once again.

My George. He waits patiently for me while I’m on the ground (on a tarp, of course) taking macro photos.

Today was the first substantial snowfall of this winter and I’m glad for it.

Thanks for coming by and visiting with me today ~ it’s always a pleasure to see you here.

  3. I entered a food photo too even though my food pics are pretty bad. Oh well... it was something to do.

Love the light you are having up your way this week. Nothing but gray skies here and it seems like forever since we've seen the sun or any good amount of snow on the ground. It's reaaaalllly boring looking out there.

  4. I don't really have any food photos either. It meant I had to get creative, both with my camera AND in the kitchen. Double whammy.

  8. I love the colors in that first photo! I hardly ever take pictures of food, I guess I'm too busy eating it?! And small victories are the best, so keep your to do list short!

  14. Beautiful photos, Kate. They're just stunning, as are the sunrise images from the previous post. I had to laugh when I read this post title. I just scheduled a post for the morning where I've used that same quote. Great minds and all that.

There is a lot to be said about keeping a list manageable and accomplishing those things on it.

I've been meaning to ask you, how did you like lulu.com for your calendars? I considered using them but didn't - yet! Also, where do you get your standouts printed? I owe my brother a canvas print but I think they'd like a stand out better. Thank you!
