Giveaway: Owl print

To show my appreciation for you, the readers of this blog, I’d like to offer one of my most recent images taken during my vacation last week to the coast of Maine.

This archival quality 8x12 image of two young northern spotted owls will be printed on Kodak supra endura vc digital paper and sent directly to the winner from my lab. If you’ve been reading this blog, you’ll know how I came to get this shot, how excited I was to have achieved it in such low light, and how angry my husband was at me for having dawdled so long during our walk that he left me lost in the woods afterward.

Actually that last part is only partly true.

All you have to do is be a follower of this blog, and leave a comment.

  2. I thoroughly enjoyed all of your Maine shots. Mt. Desert Island and the surrounding coastlines are one of my favorite places in the world - my Grammie grew up on the island and family still owns/runs a garden there.

The owl shot is really incredible, and I totally understand men getting irksome about having to wait for the person with the camera ;-)

  18. All of the photos from your recent trip have been just fantastic, but I have to admit that this one really caught my eye. I fell in love with owls a couple of years ago when a pair nested outside one of the offices where my husband worked. They setup a live webcam and we were all able to watch the appearance of the eggs and then the subsequent hatching and fledging of the chicks. I was addicted to that feed! The parents were Harold and Maude and the babies were Erol and Hedwig. Thanks for sharing all that you do with us! ~chris

I showed this pic to my son in law who is a birder and he tell me it is not a Northern Spotted owl which lives on the west coast but is a Barred Owl. An owl by any name remains sweet:)

  48. That was a great giveaway. Oh I forgot to tell you, yesterday on the Dorr Compass Harbor trail we met young Border Collie that was just darling. (Of course George is way more handsome.) He liked Henri, Diane and I, but barked at Diane's husband Danny who had a cane and dark shades. It was too funny! xo ~Lili
