What a weekend

I spent a delightful weekend attending a wedding party in Baltimore, Maryland. My beautiful niece, Kim, was married recently in a simple ceremony and the party was held on Saturday night. Simple – perfect – an absolute delight.

It started with an open house that afternoon at the home of the bride & groom in Federal Hill.

Federal Hill is oh, my gosh – beautiful and so rich in history.

Many of the homes are on the national historic register.

(Those are my two sons walking to our car).

The view from our hotel room, facing the Inner Harbor. That’s the traffic circle at President’s and Aliceanna Streets, home of a golden memorial.

The reception was held at The Red Star, a totally cool bar & grill on Wolfe Street at the Inner Harbor. The food was delicious, the company was fantastic, and the band was so fun.

This morning, before we checked out, some of us took a walk along the Inner Harbor. What perfect weather we had ~

I love how happy they look.

  2. I've never been to Baltimore; looks neat!

We had company Friday evening through this morning, so lots of cooking. But my guys left to get wood this morning, so I got some quiet time to work, check blogs, and school my training horse. I feel restored!

  5. Glad you had a great weekend Kate! The photos are beautiful:) My husband and I have just finished watching season 4 of The Wire which has left a really unrealistic view of Baltimore in my mind I have to say! I don't think that series ever goes to one beautiful place like Federal Hill during the entire show! It is so nice to see this gorgeous side of the city:)

  6. Lovely to see everyone looking so happy. How lucky they are to live in Baltimore - one of my favourite cities in the US. That Borders bookshop is always the place I go first. I don't know that particular Street, but the whole place is beautiful.

  15. Baltimore, saturated in history, is an amazing city ~ and near inner harbor seems a perfect location for a wedding....

Love your images - you've really caught the 'feel' of that area.

And what fun to steal away for a day of celebration, good food, family and fun!

PS Nice pic of your boys (tho that's about as close a shot range as any guy likes to have a camera isn't it?! lol)
