Company coming

It’s Saturday morning and I’m nearly finished with my chores for the day. A friend wrote me last night, asking if she could come visit today. She lives about an hour away and was planning on bringing another friend, one I haven’t seen in awhile. (I think they had seen the photos of the house in snow on the blog and thought it might be fun to come out).

After I warned her about the driveway that hasn’t been plowed, and the fact that the house was a mess, she still insisted that she wanted to come. She also insisted that she didn’t care about the state of the house either. And, to top it all off, she told me that she would bring lunch.

I love when people bring lunch.

And my husband is so thrilled that we’re having company.

Not.

But he’ll get over it. He always does.

We are so opposite. Maybe that’s what the attraction is. I dunno.

He took this photo yesterday and it was a little washed out, so I fiddled around with it this morning in photoshop and then applied a bokeh texture to it. It’s from a free set that I found on one of my favorite sites, Shadowhouse Creations. (I used #4).

Shadowhouse Creations Bokeh Texture Set

I applied it using the texture tutorial below, which is from the same site.

And now I think I’ll get back to work. I’m really glad my friends are coming today.

Hope your weekend is a good one ~

Enjoy your visit. :)

I admit, I'm much more the hermit-ish type and would probably get along famously with your hubby - in separate parts of the house, of course, due to our hermitish natures. :)

I just love it when people bring lunch. Enjoy! On the other hand I can understand your husband's feelings, except I feel that way when we go to someone else's place for the first time. Weird I know, but I think it stems from my shyness. xo ~Lili

Enjoy the day and the company.

I've had to jump into knee-deep frigid creek waters chasing after a mad, escaped goose this morning, so my Saturday has already been full of activity.

Now I'm going to do my best to forget all about it.

She's not coming to check on your house keeping skills. She's coming to visit you! And she's bringing food. Bonus! Hope you had a great day!

I hope you had a fun visit today. Sometimes unexpected company is the best, it keeps you from spending all that time cleaning when no one really cares in the long run! What did they bring for lunch...inquiring minds and all of that!

I both love and dread company. I've become a bit of a hermit through my years here in Norway but with that said, I love nothing more then sitting around a table with good friends, laughing and talking and eating great food....and when the friends bring the food, even more reason to celebrate! Hope you have an enjoyable day!

Why can't we just enjoy our company instead of worrying about our house ( & hubbys)? I know you will enjoy your friends & your hubby will survive! :P

hope you both had fun!

my house is a total disaster area and frankly, I feel too crappy to care at the moment. :)

LOVE the photo and texture!

Your photo of the Carolina Wren is absolutely beautiful, and I love what you did with it. This isn't the first bird photo of yours that has captured me... I first found your blog from the cardinal photo you submitted to Pioneer Woman... and now I keep coming back to visit you (but without bringing lunch)! Thank you for sharing your lovely photos!
