Inside

Last week, the school where I work was closed for three days due to the weather, and by Saturday I think I began to get just a little stir crazy.

I did get a lot done, as well as spend good quality time in my pajamas. But by Saturday, it was really getting old.

So I decided to take a couple of pictures inside my house using my 60mm macro lens.

The chest of drawers in the dining room. You can see the mantle in the background. This used to be the fireplace in the original part of the house (c. 1769) but was closed off some time in the 1900’s.

DSC_0241 copy 2

The door leading from the kitchen into the dining room. The white cabinets are what we use as our pantry.

The wide version.

The dining room gets the most wonderful light in the afternoon and someone had given me a container set of 3 paperwhite bulbs which you can see in the window on the right.

They were just beginning to bloom, which is the reason I’d put the macro lens on in the first place.

And I’m working on another watermark because I am not content with the one I had.

I was thinking of entering these over at PW’s site, but it was too late for the assignment.
After that, I went a little crazy, I think. I was looking for amusement, so I did this. Hold onto your hats, because this is wild.

This is the part where I say “Not really”. And where I really mean it.

George falls asleep watching the football game.

And because I didn’t want Miss Blackie to be left out, I did this.

She wants in. She wants out. She wants in . . .

Thrilling, wasn’t it?

Orange you glad you stopped by?

Stay safe, my friends – if you’re in the path of the massive winter storm that’s heading your way.

Those photos could be in a magazine Kate! Love them!!! Isn't funny how dogs sleep? I can't believe he didn't wake up when you got that close!

George has no shame (I used to have a kitty that slept like that) and Blackie fancies herself such a "movie star" that she even gave herself dialog. I love it.

Hi Kate :)
I like the new watermark. Of course I am lovin' the paperwhites. Too bad PW's flower photos are in the final voting stage. I would have voted for yours!

That looks like one happy, contented pooch!! Hope the coming storm passes you by (or at least is less severe than predicted).

...Oh sweet, sweet George. :o) You need to come up with a little whatchamacallit to hide George's *ahem*, privates. You know, Ree has the butterfly, you need a lil' sumpin'-sumpin' too... ;o)

...My Uncle Ollie has a beautiful cat named "Fiona" and we once gave him a personalized door mat that said, "Ollie's Daily Agenda - Let Fiona In, Let Fiona Out, Let Fiona In, Let Fiona Out"...lol We do the same thing here too and it's with two cats! Ugh! :o\

...It takes alot for me to become stir crazy. I can be homebound for days, weeks even and it doesn't bother me, I'm kind of a dork really. lol...

...We have a 1/4 in. of ice here so far and it's supposed to carry on into the night and tomorrow and then we're supposed to get 8 - 12 in. of snow on Wed. I love the snow but the ice, not so much. *sigh* :o\

...Stay safe and stay warm Country Girl & Country-dub Peeps!

...Blessings... :o)

...Oh, and I meant to add that I too love the new watermark. Very subtle and very classy... :o)

...And also, I love your house. But you knew that already but again, I love your house. :o)

...Okay, I'm done. *giggle*

It never fails. Every single time Trey-you wants out, he looks at the snow and then looks back at me with loathing in his eyes as if I were responsible for his outside-upside-down world.
But he does sleep on my feet, so I'm pretty sure he tolerates me.

That photo of George makes me want to rub his warm, soft underbelly. What a cutie pie.

If it wasn't for all the cold snow I'd long for a few days away for work. *sigh*

I love the photos of your home, lovely, lovely, lovely. Your blog was like a breath of fresh air for me tonight. My world is loud and full of messy little kids....I feel like I am entering another world when I come to your blog, beautiful, clean, and no mention of how your kid dumped spaghetti all over herself at dinner tonight. your blog was a welcome vacation tonight. Thank You.

Oh, thanks so much everyone. I'm watching the news right now with the weather reports. It looks terrible. So far, we have a thin coating of ice which shut down our schools for another day. Terribly difficult to walk. Take care, all.

Usually the only time I've been in pj's for several days is after surgery. And it did get old.

Very nice pictures.

Is this crazy or what? The winter storm has hit Oklahoma. Brrr it's cold. The poor birds are trying to get something to eat. We are hunkered down for the day. Thanks for your post Kate, keeps the day from getting to long.

Awesome photos and I love the videos , George sleeps upside down on the couch just like our Miggy. They seem to have the same characters !
We are getting prepared for this massive snow storm to hit South Western Ontario! Hope you have a warm and wonderful day !

You are so funny. Aren't paperwhites the best way to add a little spring to winter?
and my two outdoor cats are driving me crazy with the in and out...I'm guessing that when the storm hits tomorrow they will just want to stay in...

Wow I love your photographer and the paperwhites. They are beautiful. I think your header photo is great. I love Border Collies. My dad raised and trained them for many years on our farm.

It's always a bright spot in my day to "come by here". (Kumbaya, Kate!!)
I am so glad I found your blog. When things are happening like my 96-year-old mom coming down with pneumonia this week--I need to get lost in your pictures and your home for a few moments. You get me out of my worried mind for a little while.
