What the what?

With each and every predicted snowfall this winter, we had nothing. Not one single significant taste of snow this season. Oh, we had wind, we had rain, and we may have had a little ice one day but the only snow we had quickly disappeared.

This morning, I awoke to this.

It’s the first week of spring, and we have a winter wonderland.

I took most of these photos from the windows of the house. I am not going to take the camera out in this because it’s coming down pretty good out there.

I think I’ll just pretend it’s January.

It sure is photogenic though, isn’t it?

My husband had been up for hours and I came downstairs to the wonderful scent of coffee and to a pup that was wet and happy.

George loves snow.

I love snow, as well. But this one isn’t making my heart go pitter pat.

I took this one from the front porch. I love that big ‘ole holly tree there.

Taken with my phone from the bedroom window when I woke up.

And all that snow play made someone very tired.

It’s still coming down out there and the wind has picked up some, knocking a lot of it off the trees. And I can hear the birds singing out there. They sound confused.

Hope your week is a good one. Our school will be on spring break beginning Friday afternoon ~

Poor George...he has such a tough life, right? LOL. Still coming down out there for us too. It is beautiful but so ready for spring. Where was this at Christmas and January? Hmph.

Enjoy your snow day!

hahaha, love the picture of George. Great snow shots, but I'm so glad we are not getting any. Although it's cold enough for it.

George looks like he has the life.....I love your shots and especially the one from the bedroom window....

It may be spring on the calendar but certainly no evidence outside.....

We've had more winter in the month of March than in Dec, Jan and Feb!
This storm was the real thing for us in the midwest - 12" and now it's blowing around.
I agree with Nancy above - the calendar may say spring, but it's an awfully strong winter we are having this spring.

Lovely photos - I hope you don't have to go out in all the snow today.

I love all your photos--but the one taken with the phone thru the window is stunning --

Beautiful photos ! I did a post this morning asking where is spring as we woke to a dusting of snow, windy conditions, cold temps and light snow squalls , but it has stopped snowing now and all has melted and the temps are slowly rising winds still a bit chilly and light , it is gloomy and over cast today ! They say we are to get rain later . It is a mixed bag but no nice sunny spring in it yet ! Oh George you and Miggs would get along wonderfully she loves snow to and sleeps on her couch just like you in this photo! Hope your school spring break is nicer weather for you ! Our schools have had their break already . It was nice yesterday and I put my spring garden flag up hoping it would help spring arrive like it should . Old man winter is hanging on everywhere this year ! Have a good day !

Magnificent winter shots, hard to believe they were shot in March!

The same happened here, I awoke this morning to winter wonderland. Our birds are also desperately singing against the snow and cold. Let's hope spring wins over winter soon!

Stay warm

Oh my gosh, that is a lot of snow! I think it might be making up for lost time through the winter and giving you all that past snow now! It is beautiful to see though, there is something quiet and serene about snow falling, I find it calming to watch and walk in. It covers a multitude of sins! I am hoping we are finished here with snow as well. Time for some warm days and green things!

Beautiful but did you have to go to work ?

Since I live in the woods, I love how snow falls on the brances. The birds singing.

Only it's the roads. Getting out of my area is the worst of it. The main roads are usually sanded down but not where I live.

Enjoy your Spring Winterland ...

And, your pup is adorable.

I know it's springtime, but I am so glad you finally got some snow. Our place is snow covered as well. Rowdy adores the snow too, wears himself plum out and then naps. LOL. Sort of like George looks in that photo, just tuckers him out.

Well it sure looks gorgeous.. but that's mostly because it's there and not here. Nah, it's mostly because you capture beauty so well. But I'm still glad it's not here. ;)

It is beautiful! For once, we are not getting hammered in Central Massachusetts. It's actually not a bad day here. I had to chuckle when I saw George. A dog that works hard in the snow deserves a nice long nap.

Gorgeous snow images! It's crazy down here too, with rain, snow, and sleet. We had some snow this morning but not like up your way. Now we have huge flakes coming down but it isn't really sticking...such crazy weather!

And I love that shot of George. Misty looked just like that last night, but when I grabbed the camera she moved.

Enjoy this changeable weather!

Great photos! I love the sight of fallen snow on the trees, but the cold and driving in snow is definitely something I can live without.

Gotta love that pic of George; he's sure got the life! <3

Gorgeously photogenic but, like us over here, you'd probably rather have spring sunshine and soaring temperatures!

Beautiful, but I can understand why you're not real excited about it! Those poor birds!

Nothing like a little "sprinter" weather to keep everyone on their toes! Lovely photos. Stay warm!

The bedroom window photo is wonderful! Of course, sweet George on the sofa is totally adorable.

Snowed here till mid-afternoon, then switched to drizzle. It's been a good day to stay inside.

Our first winter in a new place and everyone's telling us this is the most snow they've seen in these parts for several years. Just our luck. Spring is a long way off here, I think. We have 10 ft. snowdrifts in our yard...

That photo of George is priceless! What a cutie. Hope you enjoyed a day inside where it's warm & cozy.

Blessings,

Wow, you got lots more than we did, but none of what we got was in the forecast.

Beautiful shots.

Yep, very pretty, but I'm weary of winter. Love that last photo of George! True happiness!

Who would have thought that our prettiest winter day would be in March??

It was pretty here in Jersey, though the snow changed to rain and it was pretty much all gone by 4.

I love the photo of George on the couch - what a lounge lizard!

Oh my! It is pretty, but yes, I'm about done with it for the year. I love that you have holly trees like that, they don't grow like that up here.
And George rules.

Kansas City looked like a Currier & Ives print when I flew through today, and I hear it only got worse the farther east one went.

That photo of George made me laugh out loud! It was good to see my pups when I got home tonight. :-)

(And thanks - again and again!)
