Weekly Pinterest finds

Pinterest can be a beautiful thing, providing you don't spend huge chunks of time on it. And I don't. I use it mainly for the recipes, truth be told. But while I'm busy perusing them, there are always interesting, lovely, and often surprising things that catch my eye. I then pin my favorite finds to one of my many boards.

Here are a few from recent visits. I chose one image each from several different boards to share with you.

Fabulous capture here of one of my favorite subjects.

The blue, the white, the dark wood, the rugs . . . swoon.

This is just plain cool. Alphabet stones.

I can't help it with the cats. And the quote is funny.

"The thing with cats is that they get the exact same look on their face
whether they see a moth or an axe murderer."
~Paula Poundstone

I am making this soon and will let you know how it turns out.

Planters Peanuts and Coca Cola in one vintage image. My father was a Coca Cola man. As a child, I actually thought Pepsi was a dirty word. We weren't permitted to say it in our house.

I dated the Planters Peanut Man in 1972 while working as a waitress on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. His name was Billy.

NYC 1936

Secret crush.

Just plain cool.

Love how soft and pretty this is.

Hope your weekend was swell. Mine had its ups and downs.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Your "crush" is damn good looking, I'd say.

Pinterest is a great way to waste small amounts of time and to regroup. Recipes, design, art, crafts, and a wealth of funny cat photos. I'm working on a crocheted shawl right now ... Pattern discovered on Pinterest, of course.

I will definitely make the shrimp stew. I used to make one with baby bok choy and ginger, then serve it over rice. Whatever happened to that recipe anyway? Maybe I should check Pinterest!!

Haha.... When I first read the caption under the Coke/plantars sign I read when you were an "actress" in NYC! And I thought that I am surprised that hadn't come up in your posts before. But then I re-read :-)
My weekend was only so so. My child starts first grade tomorrow :(

Uh Oh. I've stayed away from everything but blogging as that is all the time I want to spend on the computer. I might just have to have a look at pinterest this winter when it's too cold to go outside.

That shrimp dish looks scrumptious but sadly the farmer will not eat seafood.

Thinking of you. Hang on in there.

My week-end was very good, thank you!

I remember adding peanuts to a bottle of Coke!

Let us know about the recipe. Shrimp are definitely a favorite here.

I am still keeping you in my thoughts, Kate.

The Garden Gate photo you found on Pinterest is by one of my favorite photographers, Igor Zenin from Chisinau, Moldavia. He’s been around for a long time and is a master at manipulating photographs. Since you are into black cats (as am I) I thought you might enjoy another one of his images from the Fine Art America website. Here’s the link: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/strasbourgs-night-igor-zenin.html or you can just Google it. It’s called Strasbourg’s Night.

Cool pictures. That cat quote is too funny.

My mom used to say Pepsi tastes like dirty feet! (I never asked how she knew.) I love your blog, but I'm not sure I want to share Viggo with you.

OMG. That shrimp/tomato/cilantro dish looks like it's to die for. Please let us know if it's as good as it looks.

I just found your blog and looked at your past posts – you show some wonderful photos. I like your cat and you do have a beautiful dog. I also noticed that you have some great cameras. I have several, but they are very simple cameras – I take a lot of pictures and keep the best rather than photoshop them, so they are never outstanding.

He is not hard to look at at all, and when he rides a horse? The icing on the cake :-)

Mary said...

Yes, the man CAN ride, can't he? ;)

Love that last photo of the dress, and I'm not sure whether I swooned more over the blue stairs or Viggo...

Thinking of you... It's summer in Jersey once again.

After a long hiatus I just started going on Pinterest again. The images you found make me wonder why I ever left! I can't imagine getting such a great little chickadee shot. The cat one is hysterical, and so true!!!! All great shots. I'll bet plenty of your images are on Pinterest too, Kate : )

the kitty cat got me good and how true, but those blue stairs are dreamy and the little bird looked alot like your style. Pinterest can be so fun at times. I've made myself lose interest because I can lose too much time in all those pretty, cool, fun, funky....well you can guess I like it too much.
peace n abundance,
