What a day for a daydream

It was a beautiful weekend here in Maryland. We were blessed with the sort of weather that makes you say “it doesn’t get any better than this.”

The sunflowers are bursting forth in my husband’s vegetable garden.

He planted nasturtiums around two of the garden’s borders. I put a couple in the pasta salad  I made this weekend and they tasted pretty good.

The corn is getting really tall, as well.

George has endured three nights of fireworks around here. They’re not proper ones, just locals setting off their noisemakers. It’s been pretty crazy between the neighborhood next to the property and the kids in the field adjacent to us. Some of them have been terribly loud, too!

Do you notice this wonderful rug that George is resting on? It came in the mail the other day from Hilary at Crazy as a Loom, a blogging friend who is a weaver. I love that blog title, don’t you? You can visit her studio [here].

I love my new rug. Thanks, Hilary!

And now because it’s late and I need some beauty sleep, I’ll bid you farewell.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

These photographs are so beautiful. You should have included the horse one from flickr, it would have fit in beautifully. I just noticed your new blog header as well, that is great, amazing job making it. Have a wonderful week!

I noticed the rug immediately. George looks pretty darn comfortable on it. Lucky you!
As for your garden, it looks a heck of a lot better than my poor tomatoe plants on the deck. Not nearly enough sun to keep them vibrant. Oh well...

Aww, poor George! We had a few neighbors with some illegal fireworks, too. My husband remembers so many in his neighborhood when he was growing up. He says it used to sound like the Tet offensive.

Your husband's garden looks great! Love those nasturtiums. :)

George needed a little color anyway ; )

Glad you had a beautiful week-end weather-wise. We did too and it was so deserved! Here's hoping it's a delightful summer!

I ALWAYS love your photos...but it looks like George is annoyed with you in that photo here.

I get these kind of looks from my boys on occasion...when they see that I have my camera in hand, once again...and again...and again :)

Mostly from my hubby though...the boys like the camera :)

That rug is a good color for George! So glad she checked his colors so it would work.

Sunflowers! One of my very favorites..... and yes, we all have had days when the weather makes you say "it doesn't get any better than this"!

First thing I noticed was the rug, even before our beloved George! Gorgeous.

I know just how George feels.

Have a great week! :)

Fireworks are never fun for the critters...ours hunkered down in the bedroom. LOVE the rug! I so admire folks that weave, knit, crochet etc. I haven't a clue how to go about it...but I have a desire to own alpacas someday and would love to utilize the wool.
