The blue dream of sky

This was my view from the school parking lot this afternoon. When I opened the door to leave the building, I was struck by how much warmer it had gotten. Why, just last week I could hardly walk, for the icy sting of the wind hurt my face.

So today when I opened that door and was greeted with weather that made me want to turn my face to the sun, I thought it warranted a photo or two. And since I had my camera with me, I did just that.

Looking up from my parking space behind the school. I had the 50 mm lens on, as I’d been taking photos of students today.

The sky was absolutely beautiful and the sun was glinting on the windows of the cupola.

I don’t post many photos of where I work, but sometimes it’s just so beautiful that I’m just going to share it every now and then.

I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.

And please, God, please help the people of Haiti.

The sky is beautiful, the school is too. It made me snicker, though, to think of the story where you pulled up in the parking lot, radio blasting, singing that song. The image of the school married up with the story is hilarous.

May God be with the people of Haiti and go with those trying to help them in these hours of need!
Draw them near, Lord, and let them feel your presence.

The photos are great! A bright light in this dark world!

Have a wonderfully blessed weekend,

"I thank God for everything that is Yes." Love that. It's the key to everything, I think.

I am thankful that you posted something about Haiti. Honestly, I am flabbergasted that many of my blogging friends have omitted this catastrophe from their blogs. Is everyone numb? Am I writing this because I just poured myself the dirtiest of dirty martinis? :)

Oh gosh... a ton warmer than a few days ago and it should be a nice day tomorrow too! My poor hands have been soooo cold lately and just don't want to warm up.

Hoping blue skies will shine down on Haiti this week-end too.

This is why one always carries ones camera on their person. Evidence!!! OK, through with being Perry Mason.

The Old Post Road that goes by your home is the same that goes by mine. I do believe it travels from Maine to Florida. Nice to know we two are so closely connected, my friend.

Some day we need to take a length-long Post Road trip together. Maybe we can convince LaLa and Daryl that it would be a good good thing for the four of us to do! We four would either 1. have a grand old time and lots of fun 2. kill each other or 3. all be simultaneously committed...whatever, it'd be unforgettable!

See you in a couple of weeks!

And the good souls of Haiti? Never far from my heart and prayers. I've donated money and if I were younger (grr) I'd donate my time.

I absolutely feel I need this post today with all the grey covering this morning. Grey on the field in the park, grey on the sidewalk, grey in the trees. I feel though, some sort of break, that Spring is slowly on its way.

These are the photos I love to capture, walking out the door, turning a corner, sitting in the car .... such beauty around us if we take the moment to recognize it!
