Captive on a carousel of time

Busy week here, so if you don’t see me out and about in blogland, you’ll know why.  Do you know those kind of days where you just don’t have very much to say?

: : :

Today is one of those days.

Photo taken in Havre de Grace, Maryland earlier this month.

And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

~ Joni Mitchell

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

ps – a certain dog wants to thank everyone for the really sweet birthday wishes. He’s also glad he wasn’t forced to wear a party hat. We’re not crazy here, you know. Only 90% weird.

So has George recovered from his party hangover?

Oh, I'm betting all 3 of you donned party hats for George's big day, otherwise you wouldn't be 90% weird! ;-)

The colors in the photos are incredible! Great shot!

I know exactly what you mean about not having much to say some days and I have no idea why that is! Oh well! Have a nice, quiet evening and I hope your week isn't too crazy busy!

started singing that song just by the title of your post! it is so peaceful and lovely but words are a bit of a downer....

don't know how I missed yesterday's post. LOVE the sunflower shot. And sweet happy birthday wishes to George. What a good boy. Give him a good scratch behind the ears for me....

Honestly, that is how I feel 90% of the time (nothing to say... and weird, too). Lol

We used to sing that song in college. Happy belated birthday to a certain adorable dog. I've been busy and blogging hasn't been on the top of my list but when I do have time, I check in to see how you are doing.

The Joni Mitchell lyrics and your image speak volumes. No need for anything more than that.

Oh I HEART Joni Mitchell - which in turn reminds me of Love Actually, which is my all-time favourite movie!

Even when you have nothing to say, you still say it so well.

Beautiful capture Kate! I used to play Joni Mitchell songs to death in high school, funny how they still delight me. Happy belated birthday to George! xo ~Lili

I can relate, on both counts. I love a merry-go-round photo. I guess I'm horse crazy, no matter what form they're in. *smile*

I've actually had these kind of days for like--a year-- or so now. I may just stop it completely. It hurts my brain.
