Camera phone pictures

Boy, was I up early this morning. I woke when my husband got up and couldn’t fall back to sleep. I’m glad, though, because I have a lot to do this morning and I also got to enjoy a beautiful sunrise.

Yesterday, the wind blew off most of the leaves on the trees, and suddenly everything looks different. And it’s quite chilly this morning here in Maryland.

I took all of the photos in this post using my camera phone. Some were tweaked using the Be Funky app I downloaded to process photos in the phone. And some were tweaked using Photoshop, like my favorite one just below.

My driveway on Thursday morning.

It was quite foggy that day as I headed to work, and the driveway was so pretty that I stopped the car and got the phone out. I used a tilt shift effect in the Be Funky app on the phone, then ran Florabella’s tea time action in Photoshop, then PW’s Boost. I love this photo ~ and I promise you this . . . every single time I drive up or down this old driveway, I realize how blessed we are.

Even when there’s a tree down.

We are absolutely blessed to be living here.

Taken from my window seat at a restaurant in Chesapeake City, Maryland last month. I used an app from Be Funky, and one of their grunge borders. This is the view from the Bayard House Restaurant, along the C&D Canal.

Our house, earlier this week while we still had leaves on the trees.

Sunrise this morning. Bare trees, and the twinkling lights along the main road. I took this from the front door, and you can tell we live on a hill here.

Well, better get to work. Got some housekeeping to do today, and later our son is supposed to visit. What are you up to this weekend? Inquiring minds, and all . . .

Thanks for stopping by today. It’s always a pleasure having you visit.

Good morning, Kate!

So glad you are enjoying the camera options on your phone! Maybe I need to check into that BeFunky app a little more. I tend to be stuck on Photoforge2 and MagicHour the most.

Yes, your driveway is wonderful and it's good that you know that ; )

Not much happening here this week-end, and I like it that way! Things have a way of popping up though, especially with my 15 year old. Maybe I'll plant some bulbs before the ground freezes!

Planting bulbs is a great idea. Enjoy, Sharon!

I'm having coffee in my slippers too. Everyone has slippers on their mind with the cooler temperatures. I don't know what I'm doing today. It's only 5:30, still dark, and I'm not sure if there is still rain around. If not, post-rainy days are awesome for taking photos:-)

Ok, going to your link now to check out those slippers.

Great phone pictures! I need to check out that BeFunky app. However, I'm not very impressed with the photos I get with my phone. What are we doing this weekend? Packing up the rest of the house for a big move a week from Monday! I'll be so glad when we are finally settled in our new home. We are also very blessed!

You can never have enough comfy things this time of the year... warm jammies and robe, great fuzzy slippers and a cup of coffee are my morning mantra.

Hubby wants to retire in Maryland. We still miss being closer to the Mason Dixon Line.

I can't believe how far camera phones have come these days! Those are great photos!

Love your driveway! And, it's nice to know that you don't take the beautiful home and grounds that you're taking care of for granted! You are blessed!

I'm tackling my hazardous waste zone of a guestroom this weekend. Companies' coming next weekend and it is currently uninhabitable!

Have a great weekend!

You have the most beautiful driveway. I would be like you and saying a thank you every time I drove down it as well.

For a couple days I couldn't get to your blog. I was getting worried. Happy to see it back.

Kate, I love that amidst the trials of your life, you remain thankful for the good things you have. Thank you for sharing the joy of such beautiful surroundings and thank you for your inspiration.

...Oh my. Even with a phone your photos rock the casbah. (name that band:o)

...In my lifetime I long for a driveway to our dream home just like that one. It looks like the ribbon that leads to the gift - home.

...Um, when you get done cleaning would you please come clean mine? Thanks. ;o)

...I'ma hunting widow this weekend so I am doing some cleaning while blasting a Tony Bennett Christmas CD. Love ol' Tony. And I need to mulch up some leaves. I also need to paint the trim in our hallway, bath and laundry room. Clean and store away our hummingbird feeders. Annnnnd oh, I bought a dark cherry computer armoire on Craigslist so I'm gonna wipe that down with some Murphy's and get our desktop moved into it. Yeah, we still surf via desktop. *sigh* And yeah, our cell phones are still the flip type. We move so slow when it comes to advancing technologically. *sigh*giggle*shrug*

...Enjoy your weekend dear!

...(((you)))

...Blessings :o)

Super shots! Love what you did with that first one.

My 18-month-old granddaughter is here this weekend. I unearthed my kids' old toys for her and she's having a great time!

Don't ya just love fall????

I've eaten at that restaurant - we stopped there on the way to DC many years ago when our son was in high school and was attending a youth leadership conference - we decided to stop for lunch and that's where we wound up. So fun to see it again.

Hoping your husband is doing well.

To be thankful in every circumstance is a wonderful thing, Kate. The last picture of the woods almost seemed it was in flames, didn't it?

I absolutely love your picture of the sheep slippers and what looked like flannel PJS. I can't do flannel anymore--hoping one day I'll be able to! :)

You always give me hope.

my vote for best shot of the day: The Slippers!!! So cozy and lamb-y--and we get to see a bit of the jammies and the bricks of the porch and All That Dappled Light! Happy weekend, Kate!

I love all your photos, the pics of your house on the hill are awesome.
I suppose if I broke down and got a camera phone, I would always have a camera with me, it seems the best photos present themselves to me when I don't have my camera! Maybe that is Murphy's Law working.
My weekend so far has been a huge Christmas craft show in the next town. Right now sitting in my favorite coffee shop with Hubby enjoying an Eggnog Latte. Nice to be indoors when it is pouring rain and cold outside. Tomorrow is hanging out at home!! Have a great weekend!

I'm doing some exam preparation and catching up on blog reading - well you did ask!!

About those slippers... My faves are the cat and wool pair... as you might expect. I checked the website and can see why people might buy on line pricewise. However I like to know that the footwear I buy these days fits me when I try it on in the shop.

The second I saw that view of the canal I knew it was from the Bayard House. After years of weekends spent working there I could never forget it.

Love that you switched things up and posted phone photos! They still look great, too. The photo contest I am hosting on my blog right now is for phone photos, but I don't have many entries yet :(
