Happy to see me

It’s Friday and I’ll admit it . . . I wrote a post earlier this week but never published it because I was angry and in a bad mood. It was not nice.

Actually, it really wasn’t all that bad because I’m not that bad of a person. But I didn’t think it belonged here so I deleted it. I was fed up, mostly with my husband. And I’m sure that sometimes he gets really fed up with me, too.

But it’s ok now. And at least someone is really happy to see me come home every day ~

But, unlike my husband, this one wants to play.

DSC_5935 copy 2

He wants to play tug tug.

DSC_5936 copy 2

He’s had this pink rope since he was a puppy.

Maybe it’s time to get him a new one.

After dinner tonight, my husband and I sat at the table as George came out to the breakfast nook and ate his dinner. After he ate, the dog was sniffing at the ledge of the cabinet where my husband has all these wrapped presents sitting. There are about a half dozen of them and I know they’re all for the dog. (Which is cute in and of itself). I think George knows they’re all for him.

:   :   :

On another note, and since it’s Friday and inquiring minds would like to know ~ you’re welcome to answer a few random questions.

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person?

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late?

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be?

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent?

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats?

See you in the comment section ~

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
I consider myself a dog person. But I have nothing against cats and like them too.

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late?
I am always always punctual.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be?
The latter. For sure. Hell, I'm on vacation.

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent?
It's probably my photography skills.

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats?
Actually, a little of both.

There are times when I really wish I was single...just sayin'.

1. This is going to sound bad - I have a dog and a cat and I've discovered, in the process, that I'm definitely a cat person.

2. I hate to be late. I'd rather arrive early and wait than make someone else wait for me.

3. I love to explore new places. I also like to relax, so I usually do a little bit of both.

4. Procrastination. Does that count?

5. I rarely deny myself anything. Everything in moderation. That's my motto. Except chips - I'm on my 4th Chip Free month.

I'm glad your crappy week is wrapping up on a better note. This time of year really bites sometimes.
That pink rope looks like a favorite!

1. I have both and I love them all but I really like when they snuggle and the dog does that best:)

2. Punctual for social engagements, habitually 10 minutes late for work, LOL!

3. I like to see the sites at a leisurely, unscheduled pace.

4. My honesty. But you better be ready for it LOL!

5. Hmm, a little of both unless it's pie. I love pie :D

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person? I am definitely a cat person. We have a cat named Gracie.

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late? Not early, but punctual. I hate people when they are late.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be? I am a "likely to see and do everything you can person", but do sometimes like to just relax when on vacation.

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent? I always tell my husband that I am a "jack of all trades and a master of none".

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats? Definitely loves to indulge in holiday treats. :( I pay for it on January 2nd.

Never can get too many George images. Have a relaxing weekend!

Hello Kate
Writing helps! Even when it just stays private - and sometimes it's good to let it out. What a fine line we walk, I do so know.
Anyway I am in the mood for a questionaire so here are my answers

1.I am both a dog and a cat person. At the moment we don't have a cat because of living in town with no garden but I so miss the purrs.

2. I am punctual normally but my partner is chronically late so now I try to relax and not nag him.(not always successful)

3. On holiday I like to just see what happens and often I prefer to read or stroll or sit in a cafe and watch.

4. This is a hard one. I hope very much I am good at caring for my friends and listening to ANYTHING they want to tell me. Can I have another one too? I like to think I am good at writing.(said in a whisper)

5. I always indulge if I want to and can afford it.

Lots of love to you. Have a good weekend. K x

1. Dog or cat person? Both. I can't pick. Now ask me if I prefer humans or cats and dogs.
2. Habitually, and usually embarrasssingly early.
3. In 1991 I moved to the place I always went on vacation where I haved kicked back and just let it be.
4. Strongest talent? My creativity.
5. INDULGE! Always indulge!

1. Just dogs please. Cats are selfish.

2. Early bird catches the worm...

3. Hubby and I kick back and let it be. I would like to plan more but he doesn't do well that way.

4. I have zero talents... zero. 00 double oh. zero.

5 Indulge. No self control whatsoever. I think the self control ran away somewhere with the talent. ;) They're probably living in Paris together.

Well, I have to agree with Carolynn.....there are times when single sounds REALLY good.
1. I am a dog person, but like you, Kate, I love cats too.
2. Punctual, sometimes early.
3. A little of both...it kind of depends on who I'm with.....with DH, we are always on the go.....with daughters, we kick back.
4. Strongest talent: I think my creativity/energy.
5. Oh, I indulge. Unfortunately.

GREAT photos of George.
-----------
Since I am a cat, I'll let the lady answer the questions.

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person?

A cat person. I do like dogs, and have grown to love dogs that I've established a relationship with. But, I seem to have a deeper connection with cats.

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late?

Early or punctual. My opinion is that if somebody is habitually late, they've got some kind of passive-agressive thing going on.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be?

I don't really go on vacation anymore. But, I remember doing both those things: see and do, and kick back.

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent?

My ability to engage in conversation with strangers.

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats?

INDULGE. Just today I was at the store and bought different types of holiday candy to give as "gifts." They'll never leave my house.

I've always been a cat person but I recently took in a stray dog (that ended up being pregnant and blessed me with six puppies!) and I have found that I like being a dog owner as well.

I'm usually early. I hate being late.

Hubby & I usually have a good mix of seeing everything we can but relaxing too. Not sure how we do it but it makes for nice vacations.

Talent? Hmmm, creativity in many forms.

And, most definitely indulge!

Great photos of George!

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person? I love the sight of an adorable puppy, but I'm definitely a cat person.

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late? I'm punctual.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be? I don't go on vacation much at all, but when I do I try to balance the two (as much as I love going to the beach and the boardwalk when I visit the Jersey shore, there HAS to be time to just walk around someplace and take pictures!).

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent? Writing. And I don't consider it a talent, really, but a gift. No matter what I write - even if *I* think it's mediocre - someone always tells me that they loved what I wrote and why.

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats? I've never been a huge eater and I'm tiny (with a huge metabolism), but sweets are my downfall - especially chocolate. So I'll definitely indulge on desserts this holiday!

Nellie said...

1) Well, we've had both through the years, but I'm actually more of a cat person - but not in the house!
2) Not usually early, probably just a tad on the "late" side of punctual.:)
3) Rarely take what most people call a vacation, so when we do, we want to see as much as we can of the area where we are.
4) My biggest talent - perhaps sleeping.:) Actually, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking.
5) Depends on the treat. If it's worth it, I'll definitely indulge.:)

Sending along hugs to you, Kate, and wishes for a good week-end!

1. CAT-CAT-CAT PERSON! I love all animals with a passion but my soul belongs to cats.

2. I am early & have been all my life. I almost feel if I am five/ten minutes early that I'm nearly late.

3. Vacations are absolutely do every single thing I can & see every single thing there is! But, not at a stressful or rushed pace.

4. My strongest talent...cat mom.

5. Indulge all the way!!! Cannot, will not turn down any kind of treats over the holiday! Bring it on!

Michelle said...

George's eyes are SOOO gorgeous in your photos today!

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person? Ditto your answer, Kate!

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late? Usually very punctual. I hate to waste time, though, so sometimes I cut things a little too close. But not so often in the last few years, because waiting time is KNITTING time.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be? If we're visiting family (which is most often), we kick back. If we are on our own, see and do.

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent? Seeing the most logical, practical or direct way to do something.

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats? Indulge! (Seriously? Are there super humans who abstain?)

Love to answer your questions!
1) I am a cat person. I have two rescue cats, one is 14 years old and the other 2 years old. I can't remember a time when I did not have at least one cat. My hubby is very allergic to dogs, otherwise we would have one too.
2) I am always early to any appointment or whatever and always late or the last to leave. I could probably retire on the number of hours I put in after the clock has stopped. I always try to leave on time but it never seems to happen!
3) I am a kick back and let it be kind of vacationer! Don't get many vacations but I love to rest!
4) Strongest talent is patience. I am rock solid in a crisis, calm cool and collected. Stress makes me slow down and be calm in the face of chaos. I take care of whats happening and the people and things involved and take care of myself after.
5) Abstain. I am gluten free and sugar free and treats don't come into that! I do love the turkey though!

Unknown said...

1) I think I'm about even on cats and dogs.
2) I'm usually early, unless it's a family gathering
3) I like to pack in as much as possible, I have a hard time just sitting around
4) hmm, I'm a great listener and I'm oretty creative at finding new uses for old things
5) I used to indulge, but I no longer eat gluten or much sugar, so I guess I'm abstaining (dang)

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be?
Kick back, the hubs likes to do everything!

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent?
It's probably my cooking & pie skills!

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats?
Oh, indulge! Not really sweets, I'd rather have a meal! LOL!

Karen thisoldhouse2.com said...

1. I'm a dog and cat person, however if I have to chose, I love dogs first and foremost. With for dogs in the house, I don't have cats anymore.

2. I'm punctual. I don't like to be rude to people if I can avoid it.

3. I actually like to do a little of both! If we're spending a week somewhere new, there will be probably two days of doing next to nothing and eating alot, and the rest might be exploring some. I don't like to have a vacation that's hectic though, because we don't do it often, (it's been three years!!!) and I want to RELAX.

4. Compassion. Not everyone has it, sad to say, so I consider it a talent. Maybe that's weird.

5. Indulge!!!! *sigh*

1. I'm a cat person. Had dogs when I was growing up and I wanted a cat so badly. Perhaps that's why I have three now!

2. I am punctual and perhaps a little early (especially if finding a parking place is part of the deal).

3. I do a little of both. If it is a new place, I want to see what is there. If it is someplace I've been before, I will take it easy.

4. Strongest talent -- good question! There are things I like to do, but not sure any are a real talent.

5. In the past I would indulge in holiday treats. Now I look, sniff the wonderful scents, and abstain!

Joyce said...

1. Definitely a dog person. My dog loves me when no one else does.
2. Habitually early! I would rather be 15 minutes early than 1 second late.
3. I always want to get my money's worth on a vacation so I try to see & do as much as possible.
4. Talent? Not sure - lots of things I enjoy. Gardening, photography, sewing; but not particularly talented in any of those.
5. Indulge! Definitely!

Hang in there, life in general and this time of year especially can certainly try even the hardiest of souls. This to shall pass. The mantra that I repeat often.

1 - I have 2 dogs - but I feel I am both a Dog and Cat person. Had lots of Cats growing up.

2. - Always early..... it's kind of an obsession with me and maybe not all that healthy.

3. Kick back and relax. I normally scope out a few things that I want to do - but relaxing is MAINLY what I want to do

4. That's a hard one! I think Empathy may be one thing I'm good at .... but that's a hard to deal with sometimes. Oh, and I think I'm good at listening. I don't really think of those as talents

5. Indulge Indulge Indulge (and that's NOT a good thing:)

Love your pics of George!!

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Definitely a dog person. I had a Border Collie when I was growing up... I hope to have the space for another one in my future (cuz I know they are active).

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late?
I'm mostly early for everything... though I do tend to run late getting to my job! lol!

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be?
Kick back. Enjoy hearing water lapping against the shore line and sun on my skin and fresh air! ooooooh yah!

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent?
Needlework. Cross stitch, embroidery, crochet, sewing...

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats?
I always indulge on foods that I don't make very often. So, I'll indulge on fresh baked cookies, chocoalte, and buttery sauces....

I think it's nice to know that you get angry and vent once in a while (though I had no doubt that you do ... at least now we have confirmation.) It happens.

On to your questions:

1. As much as I adore my dogs, I am a cat person, who also has dogs. I readily tell people that I love my dogs, but I will always have cats.

2. I am generally punctual, with a bit of late mixed in because of circumstances and traffic.

3. On vacation, we tend to do whatever strikes our fancy. It's generally at a relaxed pace, but days can be pretty full. We plan ahead a bit, but take it as it goes for the most part.

4. Without a doubt, my strongest talent is my ability to switch gears and roll with whatever situation I'm presented with. I don't get rattled easily and I'm really good in an emergency.

5. Holiday treats? Indulge, of course ... rarely to excess, though. A bite or two of each is usually sufficient.

I've really enjoyed everyone else's answers!

Have a lovely weekend!!

Dog person. I have had 3 dogs. We do not have one now. I have always wanted a border collie. ;)

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late?
On time or early. I had to give this up when I had kids. They are too unpredictable. They are better now.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be?
I got to see. I can sit on my bum at home. ;)

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent?
Creative. I can usually solve problems and make things fairly easy.

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats?
INDULGE! I started my baking yesterday with Bourbon Balls.

Let me preface by saying I am a new visitor here and I am loving every bit of it. I search for those of a like mind.
I really enjoy the tree and sky pictures. If you click around on my blog you will see why.

I am a cat person. My little Abby is my best bud. Never had a dog growing up so have no idea how to take care of one.

I am punctual or early if I am not sure of traffic. I hate lateness.

On vacation I am a little of both. Get out and explore the landscape, take tons of pictures then lay back and soak it up.

I lean toward the artistic side, was blessed with talent for poetry and an artistic eye. What I do best is sleep.

On holidays I can usually forgo the sweets but you could easily find me rolling in a wheelbarrow full of stuffing.

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person? I'm a dog person, but if I were to come back to this life as an animal, I'd mostly be a cat (although in my younger years, I was a dog)

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late? I used to be punctual but having a child has slowed me down: probably a mix of both punctual and late but never early :)

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be? depending on where I am....

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent? making people feel at ease and looking for the good in people

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats? I have been most likely to indulge but I am trying to really cut back and just indulge on the more special occasions. There is food everywhere at work so I need to save the calories for the sit down with friends times!

4. I am pretty talentless but I guess I could say I am a good cook:)

5. Indulge!

These are always fun:)

Even if Santa brings George lots more toys, I hope you always keep the pink one as a momento...I'm silly like that..

1. Are you a dog person or a cat person? Actually these days I've discovered I'm just a plain ole animal person...wild or domestic.

2. Are you early, punctual, or habitually late? Wekl if I'm with Henri it's usually early, but left to my own devises I would be punctual.

3. When you’re on vacation, are you more likely to see and do everything you can, or just kick back and let it all be? Schedules are stressful when you're on holiday...besides I like the fun of an unplanned adventure.

4. What do you consider to be your strongest talent? right now...arranging and repurposing thrift finds to make them look artful and interesting.

5. Are you more likely to indulge or abstain from holiday treats? I indulge in chocolate, but I usually know my limit...haha
