Quiet here

It’s been a quiet few days here at the manor house on the hill. I can’t believe how much snow some parts of the country have right now. Not that I want THAT much, I tell you. Too much snow here means the driveway is shut off and we become snowbound.

I don’t really feel like being snowbound just yet.

I took this picture out my living room window this morning through the rain-spotted glass. It’s 43 degrees here in Maryland but the rain has stopped and it’s very windy. The wind and rain (and George) woke me last night and I came downstairs when George asked to go outside. George never did go outside. He took one look at the weather, and backed away from the door.

Somebody had a Christmas bath.

My son went with me to the pet wash

and I did the shampooing while he did the rinsing.

George is getting more used to the pet wash. I took these images with my cell phone.

It’s not every day you get to visit a blog where the owner posts pictures of her dog getting a bath, is it? Please try to contain your excitement over this.

Blow dry.

George detests the blow dryer.

Here he is almost dry.

He’s just had a snowman dog yummy for being such a good dog.

And this morning, taken with the big camera. Add a red bow and he’s ready for a Christmas party.

So how are things in your neck of the woods? I’ve got cleaning on my agenda today so I’d better get in gear here. Until tomorrow, then ~

That one shot of George makes me think he's cursing you in his head. Our dogs need baths, I'm not too keen to taking 2 70+ pound labs to the doggy wash. Someone might eat a yorkie or something. Love the photo through the rain streaked window!

Quiet here, too. We like seeing George, no matter what he (or you) are doing. I think you've convinced me that Ruby and I should make a date at the pet wash. I usually bathe her outside on the deck, with warm water from the hose run from the kitchen faucet. She needs a bath NOW, and the weather hasn't cooperated enough to have a wet dog outdoors, so an investigative trip to the pet wash seems to be just the ticket!

Aww, put a red bow on that sweet boy! He's your very own Christmas Angel. I have cleaning to do too, hopefully I can feel up to it...or maybe I should just wish that my company would learn to love dust bunnies?! Beautiful version of Silent Night, and happy cleaning!

Windy and rainy here as well. Made me chuckle when George decided not to go out. Our beagle would be the same ... he would hold it forever instead of going out in rain or snow!
Love your photos of George. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

It appears to me that George always takes a good picture, even when he's being bathed LOL! Such a photogenic dog, I just adore him.

Happiest of holidays to you and yours, and best wishes for a blessed 2013!

I'm ashamed to say Snippet only gets a bath if there's something untoward on his bum! George looks GORGEOUS all clean and fluffy. It's raining here too....

Yeah, cleaning is at the top of my list today, too, which is why I'm here. heh.

That snowman dog yummy was not enough gain forgiveness; that's apparent!

George is great to see regardless!:-)
How would he like a red bow?!?

We have cold temps, but lots of sunshine here, and no sign of any snow flurries. We had a lot of rain yesterday, along with strong winds. I am not expecting a white Christmas.

Lots still to do around here, too. Not too sure it will all get done, but I'll keep working at it.:-)

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Kate!

Quiet is a good thing, right?! Just had to pass on to to you that my new macro lens is on its way from Santa! When I was visiting Georgianna Lane this summer she recommended the 60 mm. I was still unsure which one to get to go with my 7000 and then I saw it listed under your gear. Thanks!

Loved the video! Funny that you shared a song by "Sixpence None the Richer" because I had just finished a recent review my son did of their latest album here: http://nashvillescene.getn2.it/event/detail/1464464

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Oh that George is a handsome fella! I just learned of a brand new pet wash in our area. I thought it was a new concept... but, I guess our area is behind everyone else? lol! Great idea if you ask me... saves having to clean the entire bathroom after having just washed a dog... lol!

i hope you don't get snowed in and that George can get out at night again - but hopefully he won't need to and you can sleep through peacefully!
I used to get my dogs washed in a travelling van that would arrive with all the equipment and they would be led up the ramp looking like they were on their way to the gallows. But even Blue got used to the dryer and afterwards they shook off and felt quite pleased with themselves, secretly planning a visit to the field where the fox poo was waiting!
Wishing you all a very happy christmas and a peaceful holiday. Love Kate xx

My dog HATES a bath. Luckily for me he is a 12 pound Schipperke so the kitchen sink does the trick. Does George let you clip his nails too - my little guy won't let me go near his toes!

Have a wonderful holiday and thank you for your blog all year!

Oh, that last picture tells a story of it's own. How cute, loveable and disgusted can one dog portray in a picture? The only way we can bathe our two is by actually taking a shower with them, doesn't that sound like fun?
Merry Christmas!

Hi Kate. They have a pet wash? Like a do-it-yourself car wash? That is so funny and such a great idea. It's been awhile since I have given my cat Felix a bath. He is probably ready but he is always so well-groomed (as he sits here perched on my knee). George looks absolutely beautiful. We have the high winds here in Mass. also. It feels so much colder than it really is. So happy that my office is closed until after the new year. Have a Merry Christmas.

LOL...George looks pissed! I take my dogs to the pet bath too...sheesh it's $18 versus $75 (per dog!) at the groomers!! My dogs are not water dogs either...but I reward them well after. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas...thanks for all your support and kind words over this year (well the past few years too!). I am so glad to know you. xoxo

A Christmas bath...love it! He's all "handsomed" up for Christmas. It was soooo windy the other night here. scary windy, but we never even lost power. This will be the first Christmas since we've been here (10 years) without snow. This is not a complaint however! xoxo

Aww, he's such a cutie! I hope that you get just the right amount of snow in time for Christmas. I think it's supposed to snow here on Christmas morning, and on Wednesday and Thursday as well... Wishing you much love for the holidays! xoxo
