Before I begin, let me tell you that once again, these are not my photos. My husband has been at it again with the camera.
He loves feeding the squirrels and has discovered that they'll eat pretty much anything. Here's one healthy fellow getting his daily requirement of vitamin C.
If you look closely at what's strewn about the picnic table, you'll see little bits of red. Those are Fruit Snacks. My husband accidentally picked them up at the WalMart last November and he's trying to get rid of them.
I say more of the same because even though I enjoy wintertime, I'm just getting sick of a lot of things. The nightly news is depressing me no end and I am so thankful to have my job. We're still waiting to hear about the disability for my husband and with only one income, it's a little tough sometimes.
And that's what I mean by more of the same.
On a happier note, there's a Photo Contest over at Kacey's Wine On the Keyboard. This monthly challenge is open to anyone with a camera who wants to join in on the fun. January's theme is "Cold". Kacey tells us that we need to depict what cold means to us, either by the icy weather, or keeping warm inside with a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket by the fire. Head on over to check out what it's all about.
I liked this one that he took of the blue jay. It's sitting on top of the lawn rake.
Oh, and before I go, I'd like to share with you a photograph that simply took my breath away today. Olivia at Parvum Opus takes the most awe-inspiring images. And this one warmed my soul. It was exactly what I needed on this dreary little Monday. So, enjoy! And tell her I said hello. I like saying hello.
Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Mr Chronicles of a Country Girl...you rock! I love the way you frame your subject.
So tell me, when will you start your OWN blog!!!
His photos are great! But can he create a mosaic? You're still the Queen!
Your hubby has a soft spot forthe little creatures - I love it! The lighting was great on that Blue Jay shot. And I feed my squirrels a great variety too! Today they had apples, pretzels and crackers w/ peanut butter.
Great Pictures, Love em!
Edward would be horrified at the photos of the squirrels! But the Blue Jays are his friends!! Tell your husband these are delightful photos!!
wow. Any action on the bluejay, or SOOC? It's so rich!
and your friend's tulips, stunning!
Mr. Chronicles...laughing, I love it! quick, register Chronicles Of A Country Guy!
27 Again, Yes. Boost once and a quick edge burn, with lowered opacity. I did a little sharpen on the bird but nothing else.
Debra, No he cannot create a mosaic. He can't download the photos either and won't let me show him how. He'll get his confidence back, I hope.
I am sorry to have horrified Edward, Pamela. Please have him put his paws over his eyes when he looks at this page. George says that squirrels are the bane of his existence.

Your squirrels are so skinny! But too cute!
Country Boy is doing some good stuff! Did those squirrels eat that candy? I wish I could find something they would eat so they would leave my birds. Great. Now I sound like more of the same. I think it's the weather.
I wish we had squirrels like this here in AZ! They are so darn cute. All we have are the little ground squirrels.. (they are cute, too, but don't have the nice bushy tail)
I so admire your and your husband's bird photos!
Love that Blue Jay. Great photos.
He needs his own blog - Chronicles of a Country Girl's Husband :) Very nice!
Love that blue jay. Hubby has a good eye!
Gorgeous Blue Jay, and the mosaic is just so...calming and pleasing. Your blog is becoming a daily habit. Makes me feel good just to look at it.
He is really really getting good with the camera...Love the one of the squirrel sitting atop the birdhouse....I went to the other blog you had a link to. Those tulips look like a painting...What a gorgeous photo...Tell hubby to keep up the good work, I'm sure we're all waiting to see what he's going to do tomorrow....Sue.
You and your photos (and your hubby's photos) always make me smile. I love the squirrels and the Blue Jay. We don't have Blue Jay's way up north here, only Gray Jay's. I love the color!
That blue jay is sweet. I wonder what is going to be on your camera tomorrow morning. :-)
Love seeing Mr's photos. The two of you together are quite the talented photogs ... :D
(xoxoxoxox's to you for the lovely shout-out ... :*)
Love the Blue Jay photo! They are such naughty bossy birds but handsome as well.

The Blue Ridge Gal
He got some wonderful shots!
I tend to throw stale bread out for the birds and squirrels to fight over... now I think I'll start varying my offerings a little... :)
Love all the shots, especially the squirrel on top of the bird house. Oh, that bushy tail -- so cute.
xoxo,
Mary
Oh I love the BlueJay...I know they are mean birds but I think they are pretty.
There are so many things to comment on here...first...Walmart...oh how I miss Walmart..wouldn't you think Walmart would be in Europe by now? But it wouldn't be as fun to go into a Norwegian Walmart with prices like 99.99 Kroner (approx. 15 dollars) for a pair of socks..hmmm..
Second, what type of lens do you all use for clear and up close nature photos? I'd love to take photos of some of the birds around here but they are too fast and too far away..I need a macro lens for my canon 400D but not sure what too look for.
Third, it's not very often you see squirrels in Norway...weird I know...but I think I've seen two in the 13 years I've lived here...cute little guys...
So did that squirrel eat the red things? And what a cute Jay .. he looks very young...
Mr Kate is turning into quite the shutterbug. Nice work.
Great photos, I am a sucker for the squirrels as we don't have them here, they are so cute!
Love his photographs - especially the blue jay which i have never seen before. And the sun is shining - must be one of the few places where it is sunny at present! I agree the news is so awful day by day that I vow only to listen once a day and then put it out of my mind. Best wishes to your husband for his absolute recovery.
Great photos by hubby. I have to say fruit snacks are a staple in my house as "Gramma". Remember the farmer is called "snack" by our oldest grandson. Hilarious. Did those squirrels eat the fruit snacks? I wonder if their teeth got stuck together. Just the picture of it in my head is making me laugh out loud.
