My Interview with Daryl

I have just completed my first-ever interview as a blogger with New York City fashionista, Daryl, and here it is.

D: Do you think I would know you if I ran into you on the street? Why?

CG: Yes, I think you'd know me. You've seen my little picture on my blog. And besides, I'd probably have George with me. Everyone knows the George Clooney of the Dog World.

D: If you could live anywhere in the world, assume finances were not an issue, where would it be? Why?

CG: Well, I'm not a world traveler such as yourself, and in fact, have never even been out of the country so I don't have that knowledge to draw upon. If finances really weren't an issue, and in order to be somewhat close to my relatives, I'd be living somewhere on the East Coast, in a home with character and a lot of land with a view of a body of water. I'd have horses and breed them. And my husband wouldn't be sick.

D: How did you come to work at your current job? Why?

CG: I run the main office at a K-12 private school and I'll be there 10 years as of next week. Back in 1999, my sons attended this school and we lived less than 10 minutes away from it. My husband had just been offered a position on a horse farm that was a half hour away. At that time, I was selling advertising space at a daily newspaper in Wilmington, DE and my husband was picking the boys up from school and I was dropping them off in the morning. A position became open in the office and I accepted it, taking a pay cut in order to get our kids to school every day. At the time, I thought it was an answer to my prayers. And today, I still think that. I love the people I work with, the children and the ethics we teach.

Ok. I'll get off my soapbox now.

D: If I gave you unlimited access to free music, what would you choose?

CG: This is a difficult question because it's so hard to list everyone I like. It's part of the reason why I've neglected to fill in all those spaces on my Blogger profile. I like so many artists. So I went out to my car and looked in my CD holder and chose the first ten I saw: John Mayer, Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne, Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt, Nick Drake, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Shawn Colvin, John Prine.

D: What is your favorite food? Why?

CG: Sushi. Really good sushi. It's an explosion of fresh wonderful tastes in my mouth. I love it.

Would you like to be interviewed by me? C'mon, don't be shy.

Here's the directions: 1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."

2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. (I get to pick the questions).

3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Have a great day and until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Keep warm!

I agree, George is the George Clooney of the dog world...and since you like border collies, have you seen the Bedlam Farm blog? And about the interview...I would like it but I'm shy too. I'll leave it up to you.

Oh, I loved this one! And hearing that your favorite food is Sushi has given me some courage. (I've never tried anything but California rolls, but we have a new Sushi bar that just moved in to my neighborhood, literally 2 min. away, so I"ll have to go try them. Any recommendations?)
If you haven't had 100 requests you can interview me. (But you don't have to if you've got 50 others already.)
Have a great weekend!
*hugs*

I love good sushi as well. But it wouldn't be my all time favorite food. As for music...hmmm...

I can't stomach anything raw...sushi is out for me. I love seafood of any kind if it is cooked.

This is a fun post, Kate. If you aren't already up to your eyeballs in requests, please interview me. You have my e-mail addy and Doughboy has an aircard in his laptop. This means I can blog every day on our cruise and keep in touch with my bloggy friends. Well, maybe I won't have time to post everyday, but I will defintely keep in touch. I shall miss you, sweet Katie!

Everyone who's requested has been sent a message from me.

Anybody else out there? Don't be shy! The questions aren't difficult!

Loved it! I have my interview with Daryl on Monday;) I know I would recognize you on the street. I just know it. Oh, and don't get me started on Ray LaMontagne. He is my secret lover.

You could interview me, but I don't know if my life is that interesting!

Enjoyed the interview. I especially like the fact you took a job so you could be closer to your children - that speaks volumes and I respect that a great deal.

Take care.

PS I sure like your new masthead with the water and native grass! Perhaps you have had this up for a while but I sure like it!

What a fun post! I'm with TSAnnie, always fun to learn something new about our friends. Sushi would probably top my list too. Tastes like the ocean. And your music....I do like Nick Drake....and I think Damien Rice's theme for the movie "Closer" is just beautiful.

An interview? Nope. Only if it's in person. With some wine. :-)

You have fabulous choice in music!! And sushi is my favorite food too.

And George Clooney has nothing on your George! :-)

Daryl said...

Fabulous. We will have sushi when we do met in person. And I love 99% of your music and the 1% is not familiar to me .. I will go listen to them.

Thanks for playing .. it was fun to read your answers.

And may I say it takes a lot of people talent to sell ad space.

Russell, thanks and it's good to see you back. I loved your recent post about Laugh In!
Jo, congratulations on your recognition as being a Blog of Note! Excellent.
Daryl, sushi it is. And although it is my favorite food, I am ashamed to admit that I am a failure at using the proper utensils to eat it. I have tried hundreds of times. I think that my fingers are dyslexic. Or something.
Maria, well ok. But it will be very far to go for an interview!
Thanks all. ttyl.
