For Today
Outside my window is a cold gray day.
I am thinking that I need much more sun than what's been available lately.
I am thankful for my job.
From the kitchen I am drinking a hot cup of Earl Grey tea.
I am wearing jeans, a long sleeved cotton tee, a white sweater and the necklace I just won over at Two Dog Pond.
I am creating a mosaic to add to this post.
I am going on a diet. Soon. I've promised myself.
I am reading a Vanity Fair magazine.
I am hoping to be able to visit friends in NYC this Spring.
I am hearing voices in my head. They are telling me to go get a cookie. I'm ignoring them.
Around the house it's nice and clean.
One of my favorite things is sleeping on flannel sheets in the wintertime.
A few plans for the rest of the week include a hike to a lighthouse. And hopefully some good photos.
Here is picture thought I am sharing . . .
I'm also posting this same picture today on my Picture A Day blog. I've been into the Mosaic Maker at Big Huge Labs. I've found it's much easier to do if I upload my photos into flickr first. It's a piece of cake. A piece of crumb cake.
You are invited to participate in The Simple Woman's Daybook, where you will see many others doing as you are, sharing little aspects of their day.
Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

I hoped your post would be coming online soon. AM NOT DISAPPOINTED! It was so worth the (ever so slightly) impatient wait.
What a stunning blue beauty you created.
I love your mosaics. I mean really love them but it makes me feel so inferior as far as my photography skills go.
Tell me...how do you incorporate the fancy fonts into your post?
Oops... sorry about that...
Your blues are incredible! Great job!
Welcome to Leif. If people have not visited this excellent story blog, they need to go and start from the beginning!
Thanks, all. Deb, I use Windows Live Writer.

"Country Girl's Got the Blues" - I like your blue mosaic.
This reminds me of another one of your mosaics - A Whiter Shade of Pale. I'm so happy I can look at it any time I want. This mosaic is equally as stunning with its cool blue shades. I hope you enjoy what little remains of your weekend, Kate.
Don't you just love the little nut hatches. They are such a cute little bird. It's fun to watch them run up and down the tree, head first.
Your mosaic in blue is beautiful.
I wish I could say that my house is nice and clean! I've been promising myself to start dieting soon for so long I almost don't trust myself anymore. I also LOVE flannel sheets and I think your new blue mosaic is lovely! I really like you Simple Woman posts.
*hugs*
I seriously need to get some flannel sheets!
You deserve the cookie! I love flannel sheets too! And that blueberry jam in your mosaic sounds good on some scones!
This is so peaceful. I can smell that Earl Grey....and we are here waiting for you;)
Catching up on your postings after being out of town. Some of your hubby's photos looking like Andrew Wyeths, but with more color. Also like when George adds to your blog. He is very clever in a lot of ways.<:D
Ooo, I love, love, love your blue mosaic. Beautiful!
Gorgeous!

Your blue-themed mosaic is elegant and beautiful!
Eat the cookie....then go on the diet.
love the blues! you have some really photos!
Gorgeous mosaic.
Flannel sheets are definitely cosy in winter. Resisting cookies? Wish I had that willpower!

Love those blue shots. Interesting reading your Day Book - could identify with some of them easily.
Gorgeous photos! I love the picture of the door at the end. It sort of puts a close to the day, doesn't it? And it's my favorite photo too.
Have a great week!
Love the blue mosaic Kate - an interesting mix!
Oh, my gosh! I love that blue collage! (there's a Blue Monday group on Flickr, btw).
Lovely collage ... hurry up spring so Kate can come play in NYC
Just beautiful with all the blues!! My favorite color! Thank you for sharing!!! :)
Beautiful and peaceful mosaic. I love flannel sheets and I think I would have crumb cake then think about a diet. I think I need to now make a crumb cake. See what just one little word does to me and that word was at the end of your post. GAAAH!
