Good morning to you

I’m writing this post early in the morning, which is something I almost never do. In the morning, I have my coffee and get ready for work, leaving the house early. But last night, the power went out during a storm around 7 pm and didn’t come back on until some time in the middle of the night. When I woke up I thought I was going to be late for work because my clock said 6:38. Oh, my!!

Needless to say, I hustled and got ready and then came down for my coffee only to find that I had actually woken up a full half hour early. I think my husband had reset my clock like this as a little joke on me. Luckily for my husband, I have a good sense of hummer.

So this is why I’m doing a post this morning.

Unfortunately, I really have nothing to say.

Except good morning.

The photo above was morning for me exactly one week ago while vacationing in Maine. My husband woke me at 6 am and we were packed and out the door by 6:45 for our journey from Deer Isle to the next island to the east of us: Mt. Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park. It was raining when we left the cottage, but the skies were beginning to clear by the time we arrived at the park.

Can you imagine hiking across mountain tops with incredible vistas such as this? It’s just something I love to do. And it’s good for you, too.

2. What are you waiting for?

3. When you travel, what sort of souvenirs do you tend to bring home for yourself?

4. What did you have for breakfast today?

5. What is the best meal of the past seven days?

Inquiring minds need to know these things.

See you in the comments, my friends . . .

Well, Kate, you know I would love to hike those mountaintops every morning, just like you. That is an absolutely beautiful shot you've included in the post.

4. I ate shredded wheat for breakfast--boring!!
5. I had a grilled Wisconsin Brick cheese and bacon sandwich which was out of this world!!

Good morning/good afternoon/good evening/good night...whenever you read this, Country Girl.

I found your blog, going from Laura's blog, to another blog, to another blog, etc. I must say that I enjoyed reading your first few blogs, backwards, and then decided to go back a ways to 'catch up' on your life. You are a very interesting lady. And, being a dog lover myself, I LOVE Charlie. My little almost 8 year old schanunzer GRACIE is our little girl. We did not have children, so God blesses us with puppies, albeit one at a time. We will be married 25 years in December and she is our second 'child'.

I am looking for a digital camera online. I've checked out your camera which appears to be a very high quality and easy to use camera. I have always taken really good 'snapshots' and I've always wanted to take it many steps further. You have inspired me to go for it!

I am waiting to be inspired to lose weight. I've had weight issues all my life. Now that I am 58 years young and have way too many pounds on me and have been on oh, too many 'diets', I am at the end of my rope. So I decided it was time...time to let go and let God take the helm. So this Saturday, I am attending an orientation for a weight-loss Bible study...First Place 4 Health. Ever heard of it?

We don't travel as much as you and your husband...and Charlie...do. My husband is a contractor who works mostly for Shell Pipeline Corp. and is away from home quite a bit. We have a motorhome that he lives in while he is off working. Currently he is in a job between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and I'm here 'visiting' with him. I loved your pictures you took on your excursion to Louisiana's version of Sin City. I am a Baton Rouge native by the way that is currently living outside of Houston. So when I am 'traveling' I usually buy something for my 'granddaughter' Rileigh Grace. She is the daughter of some very, very close and dear friends of ours that live around the corner...we moved there to be near them. Jason and Christi are our 'kids' through love. So when they were blessed with this precious child we were asked to be her 'third' set of grandparents and will joyfully accepted. They moved to Houston from Orange County (CA) and we moved from Baton Rouge to Houston. Actually we live in Cypress (Tx) which is northwest of Houston (Texas' version of Sin City).

I am looking for something to wear in the RV closet! I've been here about 10 days and I'm quickly running out of clothes!

For breakfast, I will be having Cinammon Swirl oatmeal. Yummo!

The best 'dinna' I've had this week was at Lone Star Steakhouse...a juicy and tasty ribeye and a wonderfully sweet sweet potato along with a Caesar salad.

I hope that I haven't bored you or taken up too much of your life with this long-winded comment.

Have a greatly blessed week,
Jeanne (Walker)

PS: I don't see a 'spell check' here, so please forgive any typos! Hugs to Charlie!!!

1. What am I looking for? Wow, such a probing question. What first comes to mind is financial independence in the form of a job. But on a grander scale, I would say I am looking for
2. I am waiting patiently for my husband to return from NJ and the hopes that we will be able to buy a condo next year.
3. Usually souviners of the collectable type like an ornament. But also my photographs.
4 This morning, I had a bunch of vitamins.
5. My husband cooked the best steaks at my sister's last Friday. He seasoned them with Montreal Steak seasoning, rubbed on both side with a hint of olive oil. I craved them last night but settled or scrambled eggs.

excuse me now while I change Jack's diaper...whew!

I love your "sense of hummer". I think itis perfect.
Questions...so early in the morning yet.
I am looking for my skinny self. I left her somewhere along the way, and try as I might, I cannot find her.
I'm waiting for a trip to Maine.
I tend to bring books and local publications from wherever I go.
I had generic Special K with skim milk and tea.
Best meal of the last seven days was half of a Cape Cod Reuben, and half of Rob's chopped salad. My daughter and I each ordered then shared. They were both delicious.
