Drizzly day

It’s a grey day in my part of Maryland and it’s been raining off and on all night, tapering down to a steady drizzle at the moment.

George is wet and has been out walking this morning with my husband, who walks in all weather. Sometimes I wish I could be more like him.

But then I get over it.

I’m nice and dry inside, in my favorite jeans, listening to The Coffeehouse on the XM Radio, channel 848 for those of you who have DirecTV, like I do.

Around me, George’s doggie toys lie strewn about, and the peeling paint above the fireplace is beginning to drive me mad. The couch in my living room has seen better days and is badly needing to be replaced.

Let’s turn this whole thing around.

Around me, it’s nice to see doggie toys strewn about. There’s a beautiful, faithful dog who lives here and he makes us happy. The paint is peeling on the fireplace and today, I’m just going to look the other way. Our couch has seen better days but I’m glad to have something to sit on.

There. That’s much better. Enjoy your Sunday, my friends. I have some toys to pick up.

Until tomorrrow . . .

Always more than one way to approach our situation. Nice when we see it and make the adjustment, it's like it softens everything. It is raining up here in Montreal too - after a simply glorious day on Saturday.

I always enjoy your posts and your photographs.

This is that OTHER Maria and ditto to what that OTHER Maria said. What a pretty image. I love the pink and grey too. :-) I was going to comment on that but that other Maria beat me to it.

I'm about to head out to that Kansas land again and hope that that Aussie will be there to help me look for property markers (we actually found one two weeks ago!). It is so much fun having a dog checking in on your life every couple minutes or so. For some weird reason I made a small steak for all the animals this morning because I haven't had any good treats in the house for a week or more. When I was giving Stella her share I glanced over to a piece of furniture which had your portrait of George and his cat on it. I forgot it was there. Instant smile. I don't have a dog yet but I have a borrowed one from the neighbor who lives across the road and I also have the photo of George. :-) That will just have to do until I build out there and am able to have a dog of my own but I'm not complaining. Dogs in any form are just plain happiness.

Have a nice Sunday. For some reason it is another glorious sunny day out there. That means this gorgeous weather might come visit you in the next day or so. :-)

I thank you all. And to Maria (not the other Maria), I'd forgotten you had that George & cat photo. That one always makes me smile, too. It is wonderful to have a dog. I actually kept telling myself this as I cleaned up and entire dustpan of dog hair during a marathon 2-hour cleaning spree here.
To the other Maria, I really need to write down the textures that I use when doing these photos. I had been doing just that but thought it too tedious. The formulas are something I'd want to remember, though.

Yesterday, we had lots of rain again. But today, the rain is gone and the weather is spectacular. The sky is so clear and the temps are just hovering at at cool. Tonight will dip into the low 50's! I am excited!!!
Have a restful Sunday!

We have had one full week of rain and gray skies here in KY. Today is our first day of clear skies and cool temps....with no humidity. I just washed my Border Collie and I had more water/shampoo on me than she did.

Way to turn your though process around. It really is all in the way we perceive our life.

So true...... my daughter told me this story that she heard in church....about the guy that complained and complained about the load he had to carry. So he was invited to put it down in the middle of the room, where everyone else had done the same. Then he was told to take whichever one he thought was better/lighter whatever.
He did, and was told.....that is the same load you came in with.

Like you, some days I just have to turn it ....and myself....around.
Great post.

Nice photo. As always, great post. Sometimes hard but always beneficial to look at the bright side! We are seeing some sunshine here today in southern Indiana & we have had a lot of rain, also!! Great story Hilary.

Loving that photo Kate, the attitude, and Hilary's quote. (Have actually heard it before).

Rain...how we would love some here...have forgotten what it is like. After two dust storms in three days...it is time to have a good storm to wash everything down. They have eased our water restrictions for 9 days so we can wash cars houses etc!

Hope you and family have a great week!

I think I heard that couch saying to come take a load off, grab the clicker and watch some TV.

Oh wait, that was my couch. Never argue with furniture, that's my motto.

Beautiful photo and great way to put a positive spin on circumstances that make it so easy to be negative.

Loved the outlook turnaround :>}}

Walking can be such good therapy...I understand the need to walk. I walk with my dog in all weathers, too. It was grueling at first, when I first adopted her, and I went only because we didn't have a fenced yard yet and she needed it. Now we have the fenced yard and we go because I NEED it (but of course, she loves it too). It's our routine now. And it is wonderfully comforting.
