Today was both a rainy day and a Monday but thankfully, down I was not. Work was busy at school today and I always prefer it that way.
But it breaks my heart at the same time to know that my husband will never experience another busy day at work. Ok. I will stop.
I’m still trying to make small changes to the blog and I thank you so much for all your input. We’re in our usual evening spots, my husband and I ~ he watching Jeopardy and me tossing toys to George, fooling with pictures and writing this post. The rain has finally abated but last night was wicked windy and it poured to beat the band.
Today my husband took some macro shots while walking around the yard. These are a few of the ones I really liked.
Raindrops hang from the newly sprouted maple leaves.
I bought some purple pansies last week. He planted them in pots and brought them inside when we had a severe cold snap a couple of nights ago. I love how the drops are all beaded up on this little flower.
The lilacs are getting bigger every day. He took this before the rain. I love these colors.
And this one just speaks to me. Those tiny little drops are just so beautiful.

Our minds were running in the same track, only I had already used that title once in my blog so just titled today's post "Rainy Monday." And I AM in a funk because I'm on lamb watch, which means too much impatience and not enough sleep. Your husband's lovely photos lifted my spirits, and your questions distracted me; thanks!

Hi, Kate, I noticed that you weren't sure how to enable your link to the pictures blog from your link bar. The thing is that the bar you are using is for use within this blog only. To share a link bar at the top, like is shown, but with links within this blog and outside of this blog (such as your photo blog), you only need to change that bar to a link list. If you peek in at my blog, you'll see what I mean. It's the same set up as you now have only with links to all places rather than it being a post bar. If you have any questions, you can send me a note :)

TOTALLY off subject and just delete /toss the comment /whatever. Anyway, I 've thought of your husband a lot while I'm on fb because I'm an avid follower/friend of "Ameigo the Amazing Horse." Not sure if your husband would want to read about this horse (or any horse....just not sure if that's a topic he would want to read right now) BUT just in case, it's a wonderful story of a horse that is overcoming being impaled with a limb. An Arabian, he's coming along so well at the UT vet school in Knoxville. I sincerely apologize if this is an inappropriate suggestion. It's just a thought and I don't mean to hurt or cause any discomfort.

Those pictures are simply stunning. The statement about your husband makes me very sad, too, but he is definitely making good use of his time with the camera and George--and helping you with the gardening, etc. Still, I know what you're saying.
Ever since blogging came along, I don't read magazines or books, plus I think I have ADD so focusing on anything like that for a long period of time frustrates me. Being on the beaches of Mathews County recharges my battery. All of the Buggs Bunny cartoons (Looney Tunes) were my favorite. I also liked All in the Family and the Waltons. Coffee for breakfast and then am usually eating my lunch that I brought to work with me by 9 or 10, which means by lunchtime I have nothing to eat and have to go spend money at the cafeteria.
The photos are just fabulous. We are in the full throws of your weather from yesterday. Not liking it much!

I am stunned lately by how quickly days go by - I come here and see 5 posts I haven't read? Yikes. Love the new look - 2 sidebars are a handy thing to have aren't they>
1. Horticulture. And Fine Gardening. Neither of which I can afford at the moment.
2. I am just finishing Book 3 of Sparrowhawk by Edward Cline. I can't praise the series enough - love them!
3. My inner battery is so low lately that nothing seems to work. I am counting on spring to do the trick.
4. Mannix leaps to mind. We weren't supposed to watch it because it was too "violent", but Grandma and Grandpa who lived next door didn't seem to know that, and if you were staying overnight there on the night it was on, you got to watch it. And drink gingerale, which we also didn't have at home, cause it wasn't good for you.
5 If I am being "good", fat free yogurts with fruit. If not, then a big slab of homemade bread toast with butter, peanut butter and homemade grapfruit marmalade. I do not like being good, which the size of my ass amply[you should pardon the expression] demonstrates.

2. Tales of the Himalaya by Larry Swan. He was an anatomy professor of mine a long time ago. He always had some great stories and had claimed to have met a yeti on one of his adventures. I was thinking about him recently and found a book he had written on Amazon!!! Apparently he, Marlon Perkins and Sir Edmund Hillary were on an exhibition in the Himalaya on a search for the confirmation of the existence of a yeti. Huh. Who knew Marlon was such a goofball? My dad knew Hillary so I'm just going to assume he was a nut for pulling stunts too.
3. Outdoors in the sun taking pictures of things I have never seen before.
4.Jonny Quest
5.Yogurt
Love those drops. Gorgeous photo! (And that color is stunning!)
