Give me a putt putt course with little windmills and I am awesome at this sport. Because that’s about my speed when it comes to the game of golf.
I enjoy watching it on tv, probably because it’s peaceful and soothing, and so very green. And as my husband once pointed out a long time ago, it’s one sport where the referee never makes a bad call.
So when friends we’re visiting down here in the south offered to take us to a beautiful golf course, I was happy to tag along.
Because one thing I particularly enjoy on a beautiful spring day is driving around in an awesome golf cart.
With a margarita.
And good friends.
And watching the guys play golf.
The beautiful live oak on the 18th hole that the course is named after. There’s a big fallen branch beneath it.
Got to make this post brief. We’re off on another adventure and everyone’s waiting on me. But they’re being very polite about it.
Even the canada goose here is waiting on me. Take my picture, already, as I lounge about here in front of the clubhouse.
I laughed so much yesterday with these friends that I’ve had since well, forever. And on this beautiful day I retreated for just a moment into myself and quietly thanked God that we were all still together. Still alive. Still loving each other.
Because folks, that’s what matters most right now.
Respectfully submitted,

Now that's my kind of golf game - margarita filled!
So very glad for you and your good times. If anyone deserves it, it is definitely you, my friend!
WV: numsta. You better have a good time, ya numsta!
Beautiful post... Golf bores me, completely... but you made it very interesting somehow.

Thats for true...beautiful pictures. I love playing golf, have done it for years with lady friends and my husband...the thrill of connecting with that awesome shot and the frustration of it not going good...love it all! Come say hi :D
Glad you have such a great moment to take it all in and be thankful! That's what life is all about.
And your golfing sounds a lot like my golfing! haha

Sounds like a wonderful time. Enjoy each minute, each sip of the margaritas and the pleasure of the company.
It is, indeed, good to be in the moment.

I know nothing about the actual game, but I've always loved the beautiful landscaping on golf courses... and I think riding around in a golf cart with margaritas sounds like a very relaxing way to spend the day! :)

...If there's one thing I love about golf it's the beauty of the golf courses! And that one my dear is bee-au-ti-ful! The part about grown people chasin' a lil' ball around, mmm, not so much...:o)
...So glad you're having a good time Kate! I'm with Annie up there, if there's one person on this God's gift called Earth that deserves it, it is you my dear. ;o)

the only reason i would go golfing is to drive the golf cart & margaritas! lol looks like you had a great time & i LOVE the photo of the oak tree! Goregous!
That is what matters most, always.
Together, loving and alive is the best reason in the world to be happy, and of course no reason is needed for a margarita.
wv: bookin. (Seriously.) I'm bookin it down to wherever Kate is, because she's having fun on a golf cart, and I'm having to go to work in a looney bin.
Dee from Tennessee
LOVE that tree..LOVE it.
Golf and I are not friends.
Good friends: priceless and so very thankful that you're getting to spend time with good friends!!
I'm not one to watch golf...or play it...but I certainly would join you in a margarita golf cart ride!...Sounds like you are having a relaxing, fun time...
I just read a blog titiled "stuff won't make you happy, experiences will"...and your post made me think of that....enjoy:)
looks like your having fun with everyone,.. wish i was there. enjoy and safe drive home.
I love the peacefulness....these would have made a great entry for the "green" contest on Pioneer Woman.
Enjoy your break and times with friends.
LOL...Annie and I have had more than our fair share of sipping golf rounds...So glad you all are having such a wonderful visit. xoxo
The guy I work with here is a golf nut. I've learned all about it from hearing him talk about it.
Glad ya'll are having a good time.
That is the truth! I've only been to a REAL golf course once and I was a teenager with my grandfather, so I didn't enjoy it the way I should have.
It sounds like you're having a great time. I'm not a fan of golf, myself. Too much of a time commitment, but if I were lounging in a golf cart, nursing a martini...well, I could have a change of heart, is what I'm sayin'.
Enjoy your holiday! Thanks for the updates.
Exactly Kate, being with loved ones and living in the moment is what counts and what matters- bravo for getting that and appreciating it! Glad you enjoyed your friends so much and while golf is growing here in Scandinavia- I have yet to see such gorgeous greens like they have in the states, over here- then again maybe I haven't looked as hard as I should!!
Have a great day!
Lovely! Serene! Green!
I've never played 'real' golf before! I'm thinking that I should AT LEAST try it once one of these days :D
Haven't golfed in years and years.
Margaritas! I'll bet that was fun.

That you "laughed so much" is truly the best part of this post...all the other things take a back-seat. That sentence made me smile. Keep on making those memories!
Deep South.
Even golf players slow down.
And breath.
Deeply.
I remember fondly an old old alligator sunning at the edge of a sandpit of a golf course in Hilton Head. Never moved.
It was truly beautiful there. And we were all so happy. What a fantastic memory. Thanks so much, all.
