I love playing golf

Give me a putt putt course with little windmills and I am awesome at this sport. Because that’s about my speed when it comes to the game of golf.

I enjoy watching it on tv, probably because it’s peaceful and soothing, and so very green. And as my husband once pointed out a long time ago, it’s one sport where the referee never makes a bad call.

So when friends we’re visiting down here in the south offered to take us to a beautiful golf course, I was happy to tag along.

Because one thing I particularly enjoy on a beautiful spring day is driving around in an awesome golf cart.

With a margarita.

And good friends.

And watching the guys play golf.

The beautiful live oak on the 18th hole that the course is named after. There’s a big fallen branch beneath it.

Got to make this post brief. We’re off on another adventure and everyone’s waiting on me. But they’re being very polite about it.

Even the canada goose here is waiting on me. Take my picture, already, as I lounge about here in front of the clubhouse.

I laughed so much yesterday with these friends that I’ve had since well, forever. And on this beautiful day I retreated for just a moment into myself and quietly thanked God that we were all still together. Still alive. Still loving each other.

Because folks, that’s what matters most right now.

Respectfully submitted,

Sounds like a wonderful time. Enjoy each minute, each sip of the margaritas and the pleasure of the company.

It is, indeed, good to be in the moment.

I know nothing about the actual game, but I've always loved the beautiful landscaping on golf courses... and I think riding around in a golf cart with margaritas sounds like a very relaxing way to spend the day! :)

Together, loving and alive is the best reason in the world to be happy, and of course no reason is needed for a margarita.

wv: bookin. (Seriously.) I'm bookin it down to wherever Kate is, because she's having fun on a golf cart, and I'm having to go to work in a looney bin.

The guy I work with here is a golf nut. I've learned all about it from hearing him talk about it.

Glad ya'll are having a good time.

That is the truth! I've only been to a REAL golf course once and I was a teenager with my grandfather, so I didn't enjoy it the way I should have.

It sounds like you're having a great time. I'm not a fan of golf, myself. Too much of a time commitment, but if I were lounging in a golf cart, nursing a martini...well, I could have a change of heart, is what I'm sayin'.

Enjoy your holiday! Thanks for the updates.

Exactly Kate, being with loved ones and living in the moment is what counts and what matters- bravo for getting that and appreciating it! Glad you enjoyed your friends so much and while golf is growing here in Scandinavia- I have yet to see such gorgeous greens like they have in the states, over here- then again maybe I haven't looked as hard as I should!!
Have a great day!

That you "laughed so much" is truly the best part of this post...all the other things take a back-seat. That sentence made me smile. Keep on making those memories!

Deep South.
Even golf players slow down.
And breath.
Deeply.

I remember fondly an old old alligator sunning at the edge of a sandpit of a golf course in Hilton Head. Never moved.

It was truly beautiful there. And we were all so happy. What a fantastic memory. Thanks so much, all.
