Several of you have asked how George liked his vacation to Maine, and I think he had a pretty good time. He’s great during long trips, and he loves being with us. And well, I think I’ll just let him tell you himself.
Take it away then, George.
Hi. I’m George and I’m a border collie. My humans took me on vacation with them again and I was hoping we would visit my favorite place. I knew we were going there when the ride was really long. And then I could smell it. We were in Maine! I love Maine. And I love that the cat has to stay home.
I went on many adventures. My humans called them hikes. Here is a picture of me with dad on top of Schoodic Mountain. No, wait. I think it’s called Schoodic Head.
Here I am on another adventure to Eagle Lake. It was hot in Maine this year but I was happy.
I got a new toy and I played fetch with it a lot.
Over and over and over. Everybody knows I like fetch.
I got up early every day with dad.
And we watched the sunrise together.
Things smell different here. I think that’s one of the best parts. Did you know I was born here? I don’t remember any of it, but it smells familiar.
I found a boat with my name!
No, I didn’t. I cannot tell you a lie. My mom photoshopped it for me.
I want to say for the record that this is as far as I go at Thunder Hole. This step right here is it for me.
I do not like loud booms.
I do not like their sound.
I also do not like it
when there’s children running round.
I hope you like my poem. Little people and loud booms aren’t my favorite things.
I love Maine. I hope I get to go back soon.
Thanks for visiting me today.
George

Thank you George. Your Mom takes great photographs of you and you are so photogenic!
You're a little jokester, George, for trying to tell us that boat had your name on it... Very funny, George. Very funny.
OMG...first time commenting....long time lurker as they say. Just loved your story telling skills George. And your Human parents really know how to capture your best side!
George, you need to write a book.
Awwww... love George. Great shots, love the "I got up early..." one! He is one happy puppy!
HAHA! Just like the other George that cannot tell a lie! I sure wish I could have met you, but there's always next time. Seriously, call me, I live very near your birthplace. xoxo ~Lili
George, you are the sweetest!!!
George, you're absolutely adorable! But you know that, huh?! Loved your story and glad you had a good time! You Mom takes great photos and the sunrise was breathtaking!

Love George! ... and that last photograph. What a great story. George is a great writer.
hey george....i needed a smile today and you did that for me...i know you create smiles everyday for your parents {how lucky are they} so taking some time today to show me your vacation photos and your new toy....well it means so much !!
George rocks. Of course, CG rocks too.
George, such a poet you are! I think you need to speak to your mom and pop about having your own blog!
The 3 border collies who run our house found your blog for me. They want a vacation to Maine just like George. Oh, and they want me to tell you that George is the name of their big boy's little boy.
George, that looks wonderful, and it looks so much like where I live, over here on the other side of the continent on the Pacific Ocean. You're welcome to visit me any time. And I promise you there will be no loud booms, but there will be children running around. You can teach them to fetch.
You are one handsome dawg. :-)
George-you are a very good storyteller. I look forward to your next one. :-)
shazam George! You are such a good traveler! nice to have your perspective on this vacation to Maine. Thanks for sharing. I don't like booms or children either. I love dogs.

Clever boy! Clever Mum! I reckon you have the best dog's life EVER George. Hope you say 'thanks' a lot to your human servants!
:-)

Great looking images and a very cute dog, or as i like to say family member. Richard
Thanks for the great story George. Love to hear about your adventures and see your pictures.
George...the poet and storyteller! I think you may have found your mojo! Maybe from time to time, your mom might let you post your thoughts on life and your poetry on her blog! May I say that you are a handsome devil and my dog daughter Gracie would be over the moon if she ever met you!
Give your mom a lick from me! PS: Gracie doesn't like loud sounds or little children either!
Yayyyyy George. You got to Maine before I did. My husband and I keep talking about going, but as yet we have not.
You are beautiful in your photos.
Thanks George. I always luv hearing from you.
Well done George. Now I know you really enjoyed it all. It was good of you to take Mum and Dad along too - I am sure they were grateful.
the photo of 'George's' boat .. is your camera lens scratched or is it a bunch of spider silk or an action/effect you added??????
Oh George, you are a sweetie!! I LOVE your post and am sooooo happy you had a great time in Maine. Please tell your Mommy that I think she got some lovely pics of you and the scenery in Maine.
You're a very athletic fellow, George. Excellent fetching. You've really captured the essence of your vacation with your humans and I would have believed the bit about the boat, if you hadn't fessed up. I like an honest dog. BTW, I feel the same way about booms and kids. I may borrow your little ditty from time to time.
Big Squishy Hug,
Carolynn
Can I be your personal assistant next time around? I am an excellent toy and waterbowl toter. Is that a word?
My dog Kaja doesn't like loud sounds or fast moving little people either George! Unfortunately he doesn't like riding in the car either so he won't be going to Maine with us on vacation...silly dog!
PS Tell mom I love that last photo!
I had to laugh when you said, "...I cannot tell you a lie..." and your lovely little poem!
Ah!! I'm finally caught up after my blog hiatus! What awesome photos your people took while in Maine. We've had an awful time finding places that will take our dogs when we're traveling so I'm glad that you weren't having to sneak into your places under cover of darkness!!
Isn't Maine and Acadia glorious? We've got a son who is a NPS ranger so the parks are dear to our hearts!
Great job George! My Canine Companion Sparkie (she's a 100% pure bred, American mixed breed of the South Carolina varity) doesn't like loud booms either. I heard about this thing called Thundershirt. I haven't bought one for my Sparkie (because we have a life jacket and it seems to have the same calming effect) but thought your Mom & Dad might to look into one for you.
Fansatic George, ya did a great job ! Wonderful photos !
George is gorgeous!!! I enjoyed your post George...My lil' Rat Terrier, Cindy Sue, says her mind upon occasion on my blog too ;~)

I want to hug that dog! And go back to Maine. Sigh!
George! You are more talented than we knew! A blogger.
