Photos from my husband

It’s Friday night. My husband has gone to bed early and George and the cat are both asleep on the couch. No, they don’t sleep next to each other. But they are close enough.

I’m watching Who Do You Think You Are, a show I find interesting. But other than that, it’s typical quiet Friday night. I love Friday nights. They hold the promise of a good weekend to come. And I do have plans for this one. (And they don’t include a lot of cleaning).

Lately I’ve been noticing my husband picking up the camera, the old D80 that he now considers his (and of course, it is). He’s begun taking photos again. And I find this promising.

Here are several I’d like to share with you today. Photos by my husband, processing by me.

DSC_0046 copy 2

There was a significant number of George photos on the disk, but this one was my favorite.

DSC_0026 copy 2

Taken from the field in front of the house. This is one of the bridges that runs along the C&D Canal.

DSC_0050 copy 2

I like the blur.

DSC_0072 copy 2

A jumping female cardinal.

It’s so surprising seeing the world through my husband’s lens.

DSC_0118 copy 2

His favorite subject.

DSC_0125 copy 2

I forget what I used on most of these photos. It was something different on pretty much every one. I like the softness here.

DSC_0147 copy 2

The moon one morning.

DSC_0034 copy 2

Snow geese.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. All were taken with the Nikon D80 and the old Quantaray 70-300mm lens. Not too shabby, in my humble opinion . . .

What are your plans for the weekend? I’m planning on trying out a recipe or two from one of my new gluten-free cookbooks. And then on Sunday, I’m taking a small trip. More about that later on.

I like the photos. They are peaceful and beautiful.

Weekend Plans ~ Going to the RV show in downtown Seattle. I'm hoping to upgrade from a tent. At my age, I deserve something more comfy, don't ya think ?

Other than that, it's a very quiet Friday night. The H is still at work and it's almost seven, the puppies are running around playing and I'm have a dark beer.

Wonderful photos. I love the one of G with the Frisbee. Of course, the birds are beautiful, too.
Weekend plans - none really - that's what makes it so nice. Can't wait to see what you're up to.

I too love to see the photos my hubby takes. It surprises me sometimes to see how we can both see the same scene in such different ways. Glad your hubby is taking photos again.
Weekend plans, we are going to a huge Home and Garden show this weekend, and then lunch with the girls on Sunday. Love my weekends!

Such beautiful photos. I suspect he put a lot of himself into these...they have 'feeling.' The weekend...a haircut, a meeting at church, and hopefully 2 good loaves of artisen bread. My last batch came out terrible. Fingers are crossed! And no cleaning!Enjoy, enjoy!

Love the pictures! I have been dreading this weekend. I am going shopping for the dreaded "Mother of the bride" dress. My daughter is getting married and I guess I better look respectable. I loathe shopping for dresses. :(

Love his photos--and yours, too!

Weekend plans--be a soft pillow for David who just had his tonsils out and wants to run and play even though his doctors have stressed no running and playing for 2 weeks! His throat hurts, but he hates the taste of the medicine so badly--he says it doesn't hurt! Ah--the joys (and hurts) of being a grandmother.:)

Then, if it stops raining long enough I would like to get out and take a few pictures myself.

So, glad to hear your hubby was out with the camera again.

I love seeing your husband's photos too.

My younger son is taking the ACT today. He is in 7th grade and qualified through Duke's Talent Find.

I have a new Lego set to put together. I might even let my boys help. ;)

Love your husband's photos. He's not at all bad at it, I think. So yes promising he has the urge to do that. I understand why George is his favorite subject :-)

My weekend plans, are mostly to try and sort my flat out, and see if I can stomach the energy to visit my old dad in hospital :-( - I hope he's a bit more clear today. My sister is on her way in there now. Fingers crossed!

Hanging close to home this very, very cold weekend. The Hubby had to work today, out in the "teen" weather. All of our guys are working in this cold, ICK! Thinking I'm heading back to bed!

Pleased your husband has taken up the camera again. Lovely photos - particularly like the one of George's eye - also the tree ones.

What am I doing this weekend? Keeping warm as the aga is off awaiting a new oil valve. Lunch was cooked in the microwave combi - pork with apricots. Shall now search out a recipe for tomorrow.

Lovely photos! Especially the Moon! I was up early several mornings this week trying to get a decent shot (out of hundreds). I need instructions from your husband. Weekend plans are to stay home and enjoy a bit of winter snow!

These are all wonderful... that jumping cardinal takes the cake!

It is cold and snowy here, I am planning to spend today in my jammies reading in front of the fire.

Taking a snow day.

I love the first one! I can just feel his cold, wet nose. Your processing is nice, is there something in particular you use more frequently?
Also, I want to thank you for your information on the Wheat Belly diet. I started about a week ago and already feel so much better.
Thank you!

Wonderful collection here. I really, really love the cardinal.

I especially love the jumping bird one and the closeup of George. It's pretty cool to see the uniqueness of them all too. Although number 6 looks like your style I think. And maybe number 1. But then again you did the processing. Loved seeing these, they were all beautiful. xo ~Lili

Kate is a boring person. NOT! Don't ever say that again, Missy! DH has the gift of photography too! He took some awesome shots, as did you of the snow. Clicked on over and it looked like you gal pals or blisters had a good time celebrating someone's birthday! How fun was that! Have a great week ahead!
