New favorite: Dove VisibleCare Toning Crème Body Wash

When BlogHer asked me to write a review on this product, I said sure – it sounds like fun. I’m one of those people who loves trying new lotions, body washes, and hair products; however, I'd never endorse something I really didn't like. Body wash is such an easy way to make yourself feel pampered. Thinking that I would be sent a small sample for this review, I was surprised to find an 18-oz. sample in my mailbox. I was advised to follow the directions, use it for a week, and then write an honest review.

The directions are simple. The lather was incredible.

And I can honestly tell you that I believe that this product works. My skin has actually improved since I began using it three weeks ago. I will tell you that I didn’t notice much of a difference in just a week’s time but after three weeks, I’ve begun to realize that I actually have visibly more beautiful skin – just from a body wash.

My skin seems more even-toned, softer and more supple. I’m 55 and suddenly my skin doesn’t look so “old”. This is especially nice in the summer, when more skin is showing. When I’m done in the shower, I don’t even feel the need to use moisturizer afterward, although I do. Perhaps it’s the ‘NutriumMoisture’ that the product touts, but whatever it is, it’s good stuff.

This body wash is available in three variants, according to the website.

1. VisibleCare Toning Crème Body Wash – helps to promote skin’s elasticity and strength. (this is the one I’m reviewing).
2. Renewing Body Wash – nourishes and replenishes skin.
3. Softening Body Wash – softens skin and dry spots.

The lather is rich and has a lovely light scent . . . could it be bergamot? Whatever it is, Dove’s VisibleCare Toning Crème Body Wash is from a revolutionary line of premium body washes and was designed to promote your skin’s elasticity. It contains the highest concentration of NutriumMoisture technology in their line of products and is available at WalMart, and Amazon, among others.

You're the second blogger today I've seen with this product endorsement, and you both rave about it. I'll have to give it a try. I usually have a bar of soap in the shower... you know me and soaps.... a new kind as often as possible.. love the home-grown kind especially.

I use soap but my husband started using one of the other Dove body washes and thinks it really helps his dry skin. Like Karen, I'm loath to give up my bars....

wow....i want better skin, too....i'll add this to my target list.....but due to my issues with smell, if it's too smelly it won't end up in my cart :(

Great review!

I use Dove bar soap, but this sounds like it is worth a try. Another good Dove product is their Dove Damage Therapy, Cool Moisture hair conditioner. When I use it I use just the smallest dab and it works like a charm:)

I will look for it next time I'm shopping. Thanks for reviewing it! Nice to know.

I actually hate using a separate moisturizer on my skin after a shower...especially in the summer. It just feels yucky to me, even though I definitely need something extra on my skin. I'll give this a try!

I used to work at the ad agency that Lever Brothers (Dove's manufacturer) employed .. did you know Dove soap's forumla evolved from a special formula used on burn victims .. so I have no doubt Dove body wash is wonderful .. the soap is .. never drying to the skin .. anyway I am glad you liked it and that you did this review ..

I love Dove products. My Grandmother used Dove soap and her skin was amazing. The smell of Dove always reminds me of her:)

Thanks for the review. I've not been a fan of Dove Products in the past, but I definitely will try it.

When we visit our kids, my daughter always has body wash in the shower and I love it, but for some reason I still use bar soap at home. I could use some skin improvement, hmmmm maybe I'll have to try this. xo ~Lili
