The Simple Woman’s Daybook, a day late

For Today

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

simple-woman-daybook-small Outside my window the skies are darkening and I can see the twinkling lights of town at the bottom of the hill.
I am thinking about a friend who needs help.
I am thankful for this home that I live in.
From the kitchen tonight, we had macaroni & cheese and stewed tomatoes. I absolutely needed that comfort food tonight.
I am wearing one of my countrybumpkin fashionista outfits. This one consists of black sweatpants that my husband washed today with the white towels. He does that a lot, so I’ve taken to hiding my good clothes from him. I’m going to throw these out next week and buy another pair to kick around the house in. I also have on my favorite old cream colored sweater. I think it screams sex kitten. Yeah. Dat’s me.
I am creating a letter to the friend who needs help. But I just can’t find it in me to send it.
I am going to tell you a secret. But not today.
I am reading a book on proper etiquette. I always like to do the right thing, you know.
I am hoping that some day I will stop fibbing. Especially about what I’m reading.
I am hearing the Survivor Dancing Show starting up. Can you tell how thrilled I am?
Around the house it’s clean and quiet. I have my vanilla lime Yankee candle going and George is at my feet.
One of my favorite things is coming home from work and knowing that my husband is still here and waiting for me.
A few plans for the rest of the week are to finally get our taxes done and to decide whether or not we’re taking that road trip. My husband is thinking that it’s going to be very difficult for him and I’m beginning to see his point.
Here is picture thought I am sharing

I got to bring home one of the fresh arrangements from the school auction this past weekend and thought some of the blooms would make for a couple of good photographs. I’m on the fence about this one but maybe if I come back and visit it, it will grow on me. Ha. Grow on me. Sometimes I crack myself up.

Want to vote in a Photo Contest? Head on over to Kacey’s blog where her March Photo of the Month Contest is going on right now. This is not a blatant attempt to get you to vote for my entry. It’s just fun to vote, that’s all. There’s some beautiful pictures in this month’s contest where the theme was “Green”.

And if you like, you can visit the Simple Woman’s Daybook here.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

I love this photo, Kate, and sorry I haven't been around for a while. Hopefully, I'll be catching up on everyone's blogs and will be able to do more posts myself.

What could be better than mac and cheese, comfy clothes, a husband who does laundry and a sweet dog for company. Good luck with those taxes. Love the flower photo!

This is a very touching post today. Don't ask me why, but I can tell you put a lot of yourself into this.

I love the photo, too; the texture really "makes" it. I still haven't taken the plunge with textures; too many lambs to photograph and blog about right now!

I am so in love with that flower photo! It is perfection. I enjoyed reading your post today. Oftentimes, I don't like to read these. But you manage to make them so enjoyable and readable! Keep on keeping on, girl!
