He has a one-track mind

After dinner tonight, I ventured outside to water the plants. George came along with me and believe it or not, we actually had a lovely conversation.

At least I think we did.

Telepathically.

ME: “Hey, George. Watcha doing?”

GEORGE: “I think I’ll have a lie down and watch you water the plants.”

ME: “Georgie, wouldn’t it be fun to go on a Road Trip this summer?”

(Please note that at the mention of the words Road Trip, George opens his eyes wide. He knows what a road trip is).

GEORGE: “Would you be taking me?”

ME: “Of course we’d be taking you! We’d never leave you at home!”

DSC_0349 copy 2

GEORGE: “Oh, good. I feel better now.”

ME: “I want to go to Maine. Do you want to go to Maine, George?”

DSC_0351 copy 2

GEORGE: “Huh? What’s that? Did you hear that, mom?”

ME: “Yeah, I think I heard something. I don’t know . . . it coulda been . . ."

GEORGE: “There it is again. Did you hear that?”

DSC_0355 copy 2

GEORGE: “Ok. Wait a minute. Now it’s up here. High up in this tree.”

ME: “It’s probably just a squirrel, George. Calm down, ok, and let’s talk about a big Road Trip to Maine. I really want to go.”

GEORGE: “You’re taking me, right mom?”

ME: “Yes, George. {sigh} We wouldn’t leave home without you.”

He may be smart, but when it comes to squirrels, everything else just goes out the window.

Hope you liked the photos of our dog tonight. A reader asked for them and it made me only too happy to oblige. All of the pictures used in this post were processed using Florabella’s Sweet Vintage action at opacities between 20% and 40%. I also threw in a little of TRA’s Super Fun Happy at around 15%.

TIP: TRA (Totally Rad Actions) offers three free actions from their Original set and five from TRA 2. To get them, click on the link provided and then click ‘Try ‘Em', on the home page.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

I heart George! A road trip to Maine sounds fun...you know Quebec City isn't that far away. You'd have place to stay while you are here...George too!

I like to play with textures and all that fun stuff when it's free. Some designers are just charging way too much money if you ask me.

George is one smart cookie (does he know that word too?)

Shhhh....my dog and I have conversations all the time.....I prefer to think it is perfectly normal and she does understand, just like George. On your way north you will have to pitstop here. I would feed you and George! :)

Reminds me of trying to talk to my brother when he's doing something else.

I end up having to repeat everything.

Have a great weekend!

this conversation is too precious and I could swear I heard George talking...Your blackberries look so good. Our's do not come out till Mid July to August the little wild ones.....they are so good, but I do not like to pick, so I just buy them... Hey Kate: We are to have maybe seven dry days...oh boy....and even sunny too...
Have a good weekend. Kay in Oregon

Good evening Kate!
A long time ago we had a german shepherd and my daughter (who was younger then) used to always laugh when I would talk for Shep...it just seemed to come naturally...maybe I have something in common with Dr. Doolittle! As long as no-one mistook me for do-little..wouldnt ever want to be referred to as that for my name! lol
Bottom line is...we love our dogs and we just get to know them so intimately dont we?!

George is adorable!

Have a sweet evening!

I love George, these are all great! Our dog freaks when we take him in the car, any time we say the words "road trip" he runs and hides in his bed, shaking like a leaf! Oh well...
