Spent clover and wild things

Wild thing.

You make my heart sing.

You make everything groovy.

Suddenly I’m in eighth grade again, line dancing to The Troggs’ Wild Thing in the church basement of St. Joseph’s annex building in Somers Point, New Jersey. Whoa, now that’s a memory.

Today was such a stark difference from yesterday’s oppressive heat. The air was actually sweet and I don’t think it got above 74 degrees. It felt good to feel the sun on my skin as it warmed me up just enough. This is how an early summer day should feel.

Just before the rain started yesterday, I took some macro shots of tiny little wild things I noticed while I was walking. Above is a spent clover.

This tiny little flower is a small weed that’s growing on the edge of the patio bricks. The flower itself is half the size of the nail on my pinky finger.

It looks like a little rosebud, doesn’t it? When it’s open it looks like a star.

This wild morning glory is just a tad bit bigger than my thumbnail. My husband had told me about it, growing amidst the grass of the lawn, but he couldn’t find it to show it to me. It was because it had begun to grow dark with the storm coming in and it had closed up.

I think it’s beautiful.

The weather was perfect for walking today and I’m proud to say that today I went around the outer loop of the property a total of five times (this is a record for me) and the inner loop twice. Woot! I want to be ready for a hike at Acadia National Park when we go this summer.

So how are things in your neck of the woods?

Love,

Great shots, they are all beautiful! The weather was the same here today, it was perfect, wasn't it? And you go with the walking, good for you!

Well the OTHER Hilary just voiced my thoughts.. not for the first time, I might add. I have a decent macro setting on my older digital camera but I rarely bring it along with me anymore. Beautiful images, Kate.

We've had rain for about three weeks now but it was ok this afternoon and evening. The owls in my back woods were very active and I caught a few pics of them while they were in my yard.

Humid and misty. A slight improvement over the non-stop rain!

Love the macro lens as always!

Things are great here now that it cooled off after our muggy week-end. Gosh it was sticky here in Roanoke. Love your macros and STILL waiting to get a macro lens.

It's cooled down here too! Nice breeze. Very wonderful! Love your macro shots! I took flower shots yesterday too, but didn't use my macro. Might try that today.

It was a lovely cool enough to need my jean jacket yesterday morning .. I slept last nite cuddled with the new quilted cotton comforter I got at Country Door .. and this morning I wore a sweater and scarf over a short sleeved top and jeans ... its casual but chic'ly so here in the land of stilettos ... I am loving this weather ... sadly its supposed to rain tomorrow ... and I am off to Boston on Friday and then Provincetown on Saturday with my dear friends Maureen and Joanne... MoMo said 'we're going to be wild women' and I said I am so there ..

Oh and I love those macros .. they make my heart sing too, I am dying to borrow it when we are in VA ..

I love macro. It's a way for me to take notice of all the wonders that surround me and that I would miss if I didn't slow down. Such beauty to be found. I only wish I had a camera that allowed me to take macro shots. Soon...

I thought that WAS a rose! ...I love our little blooms of jasmine everywhere! (See sidebar at TKR).
In the lower neck of my woods....uh er... beach not so good...Is that an understatement or what?
Meanwhile, in inland Alabammer, we are enjoying plenty of rain and everything is green!
I always love visiting your Chronicles! And I always get too excited (chuckling)!

Morning Glory is considered a weed -- believe it or not -- but I think it is the most beautiful flower ever created. Wonderful photo!
