I worked on some photos for you.
Those little hummingbirds are quick.
But they know how to rest, as well.

~Thomas Lovell BeddoesTell me how many beads there are
In a silver chain
Of evening rain,
Unravelled from the tumbling main,
And threading the eye of a yellow star: -
So many times do I love again.

Here’s hoping you all have a wonderful week ahead.
Until later, my friends . . .

OMG...your bird shots always amaze me! Hope your week is wonderful as well!!! xoxo
Great pictures, I love hummingbirds.
(I even have one tattooed on my leg)
Sounds like a great, relaxing day. My part of Minnesota was gorgeous, partly sunny, 70's, great outdoor working weather (for me).
Have a good day at school tomorrow.
Beautiful shots! Those little guys really are quick. I've been hoping to get pictures of them at my feeder but they always disappear before I can grab my camera.
Wonderful post and amazing photos ! The evening you described sounds wonderfuly tranquil ! Enjoy the rest of your evening !
Le'Ann, You can hear them coming. They sound like the drone of a huge bee. I usually sit outside with a book and a beverage and when I hear the drone, I pick up the camera and begin clicking away, hoping to get one or two shots out of the many I will take.

Kate, they are wonderful, as always. But that second shot is particularly exquisite in my opinion.
So thank you so much for sharing them with us. And you have a great week also. No more hurricanes...nice to have gentle rain!
That second photo - I'd buy that one. Sensational! Man you are talented...
Now, stop distacting me from the Spring Cleaning please!

A beautiful poem to accompany even more beautiful photos!
Kat :)
Wonderful, just wonderful. The blend of the exquisite images with the poetry and prose equals perfection.
...Gorgeous overload those photos are. I'm surprised birds don't actually approach you for a photo, seriously. :o)
...I love rainy days and evenings, there's something so serene and calming about 'em. Oh, and when you're done with the rain please send it our way, it is so very dry here. Our shrubs are showing signs of stress and our pond is almost 2 ft. low, so sad.
...Enjoy your week - hope it's a great one!
...Blessings :o)
Just beautiful photos of one of my favourite birds.
Beautiful, as always.
Great shots of the hummers and the use of textures! I have found hummingbirds to be difficult to capture because of their constant, swift movements. Great job!
***sigh*** beyond gorgeous, images and words both!
xoxo
You, my friend, are a talented artist! These are Awesome!
Just wonderful.
DEEP sign ... I wonder if there are hummingbirds in Riverside Park .. hey I never thought I'd get a shot of a hawk and I did .. of course the moon and a rainbow are still on the list . along with one darling hummer..
Lots of rain here throughout the past 48 hours and still in continues to soak our ground. The house sits high enough that it can rain all it wants and we should be fine and dandy. Just hard to get a small puppy to go outside and poop when it's raining.. She balks!!
Great shots. For some reason, it always makes me smile when I catch a hummingbird at rest.
Love that poem as well.
Ah, it is raining here today, as I write this comment and envy you for a softer and quieter refreshing rain. There are rivers flowing down the streets and birds are nowhere to be seen or heard. Lovely processing of your photos.
This meant so much to me...the hummer photos, the gentle rain-words, the poem...thank you dear.
Sharon
Love those shots, they transport me away to a beautiful late summer afternoon, with the whirring of a hummingbirds wings stirring the air.

nice post...wish Texas could get some rain....put out some of those wild fires...
Love how you processed those sweet little hummers! Looking forward to catching up ... I enjoyed a lot of lobsta for ya!
The photos are awesome of these flighty little birds! And the poem is such an added bonus. In Louisiana, we call that "lagniappe" (lan-yap) n. a small gift or unexpected benefit!
Hope you have a quiet and delightful week!
Fabulous post and title!

xo
I can't get a good shot of them either, great work!
Love the poem ~
Awesome h-bird shots!
what a fantastic capture!!
stunning hummingbird shots!
Beautiful photos.
I just hopped here from Beth at Be Yourself... love love love the pictures!!!
I have missed stopping here and getting my daily dose of Kate! After having no power for five days and then the cleanup and a long family weekend I am finally catching up! I was glad to read that there was little damage at your home...and I could sympathise with you re your noisy neighbors having had many. During our 5 day power outage the noise of nearby generators nearly drove me nuts. When the lights went out it used to be nice and quiet!
...I much prefer the hum of the hummingbirds!
Oh--I love love love the hummers--that first shot you got done is awesome. I really wish I knew how to do that fancy stuff!
You are so very talented, each one of these images are exquisite little works of art. xo ~Lili
