Thank you, Renee

When my friends arrived last weekend, they brought an unexpected housewarming gift with them from Renee. Renee is Adrienne's sister. The box alone was a nice enough gift, but inside I found blueberry jam and blueberry tea.

Now, I love blueberries and blueberry jam is excellent, however I've never had blueberry tea. It sounded really strange, but I gave it a go and decided to make iced tea with it. And you know what? It's very very good. Surprisingly good, in fact.

Here's the recipe I used:

Blueberry Iced Tea

Boil 2 cups water, remove from heat
Add 3 blueberry tea bags, let steep 20 minutes
Add about 2/3 cup (or less) sugar
Stir and pour into 2-qt. pitcher
Fill pitcher to top with cold water
Serve over ice

Renee, thank you so much for the thoughtful gift. So when are you planning on coming out?

Love, Kate
Until tomorrow, my friends.

I love blueberries, not fresh but once you do something to them they become amazing in everything... That makes me want to make blueberry waffles tomorrow. Curse you ;)

It really is a wonderful gift, and it does look so nice.

Blueberry tea is my favorite. I was a little leery of it the first time my hubby brought it home, but the first swallow had me hooked. What a great friend to bring such a wonderful gift.

hi there, I'm coming by your blog for the first time and am loving all your beautiful nature photos. It must be so nice to live in the country. I'm in Singapore which really is a city nation - so I always visually soak up nature when I travel :)

You'll have to let us know how the jam is. I have a jar of the exact same jam in my pantry, haven't opened it yet though.

I love anything with blueberries, but I had my very first blueberry martini a couple nights ago at Outback Steakhouse. They were out of my favorite pomegranate so I thought I'd give the blueberry martini a try. It was unexpectedly delish! Yes, there is actually blueberry flavored vodka. You;ll have to stop by sometime and have one with me :)

How pretty! What a sweet friend to give you such a nice gift. I've been drinking tea because I fear if I don't have ice tea, I may spontaneously combust from the heat and hot flashes. Now I have a new tea to try. Blueberry! Yum.

I received a gift of blueberry tea once and I don't think I've ever opened it. (I thought "EEWW") But maybe I'll try some now that you've given us a good recipe for it iced.

By the way, I like your new look here.

Oh I was hoping you would tell me how to make blueberry tea from all my fresh blueberries. I guess I might just smush some up and see if it tastes good. Naaah! I'm not that smart.
