There's a front moving in

Quiet day here in Maryland with gray skies and a little rain. As I write this post, a front is blowing in, a Bruce Springsteen concert is on TV, my husband is napping on the couch and the little black cat is curled up on a pillow next to me. Where's Georgie? Oh yeah, there he is. He's over by the front door lying down in one of his favorite spots.

So you can see it's excitement galore here. But secretly, let me tell you honestly that I LOVE this. It feels normal, you know? I can hear the wind outside and we're safe and warm in here. We have a home to live in and we're blessed with that.

Now let's get to the winners of the Pay It Forward contest from yesterday. They are:

They'll each be getting something from me in the mail very soon and then they'll host a pay it forward contest on their blogs, so be sure to visit and be one of the first three commenters.

Thanks to all for your opinions on the Mary Poppins issue, the hot topic from yesterday. Honestly, I can't believe how vacuous my posts are sometimes. There's another word for you, Rich. The Mary Poppins issue came up when my friend, who I told you would remain nameless, told someone they reminded him of Mary Poppins. Told her, to her chagrin, mind you, which puzzled him. You see, he thought this would be a grand compliment because the Poppins rocks his world. Now some of you agreed with him that yes, she is quite the hottie. Check out that link, Rich. It's the Urban Dictionary.

However, if a man told me that I reminded him of Mary Poppins, I'd have to hit him with my big umbrella (the one with the parrot head on the handle). Don't get me wrong. I loved watching Mary Poppins and even today, I'd enjoy it. But you aren't giving me a compliment telling me I remind you of the magical British nanny.

So that's where that came from. And so, without further ado,

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

It sound like a wonderful evening to me. Is the Bruce concert the one from Dublin? I do like that one!
Hello to George! And you know, I really don't think I would mind being compared favorably to Mary Poppins. It's better than Paris Hilton.

Congrats to all the winners! A stormy night here in CT, too. And I think Julie Andrews is still a hottie. If you, um, ask me. Take care.

Normal is so splendid. Exciting, really. And the OOOoooo kinda wind is my absolute favorite thing to listen to while I curl up under a heavy blanket.

OOooooo.

See? So fun.

There's no better feeling than when everyone is home, safe, and tucked in. Yes, I know that feeling and I love it.

This Christmas we will celebrate with my family - there are 29 of us total (my parents, my siblings and their families). I also get that feeling when we are ALL there, together. LOVE IT.

To all the winners, you will love whatever Kate sends you as I have one great photo. As for Mary Poppins, I have always had a love for her and the storyline. I remember seeing this movie while visiting family in NJ. My uncle took about 8 of us to the movies and we sat in the first row. I think that is when I first started having stiff necks....

Oh My Gosh, I am so excited to meet you! I have been trying to meet bloggers from MD for the longest time! I am in MD as well! And we both live in the country. AND we both love photography!

I found you through Kacey and noticed your comment about MD weather. I would love to know where in MD you are.

Welcome ipost! I sent you a private e-mail.

I love this wind, but I went out this morning when my hair was still wet and am now suffering from Bozo the Clown Hair. This happens a lot in this weather.

Normal is excellent.

You know, she is looking pretty good to me in this picture, but I'm stopping now with all this.

Time to move on . . .

I don't think any of your posts are vacuous!
Congrats to your winners. I'll never think of Mary Poppins the same way again.
I'm so glad that you are all getting settled in and feeling comfortable, what a blessing. Hope your front doesn't bring to much weather yet. We had a little bit of snow again yesterday.
*hugs*
