Vintage textile book giveaway and vintage George

Blogging friend Erin, over at The Good Life in Virginia, is hosting her very first Giveaway and you're all welcome to join in the fun. All that's needed is a valid e-mail address and a comment about one of your funniest holiday memories.
The winner will be awarded a copy of her vintage textile book and a little something extra. And I love vintage textiles!
So head on over. I'll be here when you get back.

Vintage George

Photo taken October, 2007

Tomorrow (Friday) I have the day off from school. Maybe I'll take my husband for a drive somewhere. It's been a couple of weeks since we last did that, and George would love to take a nice little walk somewhere. My husband is getting stronger and is doing allright.

Some have asked me to post more photographs of the inside of the house and I'd like you to know that I'm pretty wary of doing so and I'll tell you why. It's because this house isn't 'ours'. We're living in it and caretaking for it. There are still many things in the home that belong to the owners and it would be wrong to photograph it for public display. Besides, they've asked that I refrain from doing so on my blog. And until they asked, I hadn't even thought of it. I don't mind taking pictures of my own things, and every now and then showing another corner of one of the rooms that we're using, but just so you know where I stand, ok?

Survivor was on tonight and it's always a surprise to me when my husband tells me during dinner that "Survivor is on tonight." It's like a treat. I don't think about TV all day long and to find out that our favorite show is on is like a surprise. I'm an airhead sometimes.

So anyone watch tonight?

George had the same gaze then that he does now - piercing and true! He was/is a cutie!

Not a survivor fan...not really a reality tv fan. It doesn't leave me much to work with :)

I watched, yes I did, I wouldn't miss it. I love Survivor, if I was 30 years younger I might have tried to get on the show. No way now, I would be booted the first day.

I love your photos they are just beautiful.

I just want to sit and pet that pooch of yours - he's a doll.

My name is Ellen and I am a Survivor fan. There, I've said it. Big surprise to see Charlie go - I thought for sure it would be Chrystal or Randy. Isn't it funny that Sugar sits with the idol - the last one most would suspect.

George is such a beauty.

Not a survivor fan at all.. saw maybe a few snippets of it and nothing more. But I always get a kick out of how people do enjoy it.

Enjoy the drive. :)

Hello Country Girl, I am a good friend of Georgia Rector and Drivn 55 and feel that I should know you already. I read about the 4th file, 4th picture and thought it was such a great idea. Loved it. I look forward to visiting you more often.

Friends of mine gather each Thursday evening over at my next door neighbour's place with appetizers and wine or special of the evening drinks and all of us watch Survivor. We've been gathering for the past four seasons. Not sure if its the show we like the most or the company!!
I had Charlie in a Survivor pool so I wasn't pleased to see him go.:(

Little George. I wanna bury my lips in his fur (and I wouldn't even do this with my own dog, that's just how much I like George.)

Watched Survivor. Don't wanna like it but it seems to have something that appeals to me.

George was a cutie even as a pup...I used to love watching Survivor until the husband started making comments everytime Jeff would give his little speech about leaving at the end of the show...He drove me so nuts being negative that I stopped watching...Husbands can be such buzz-kills...

Aw - that George has always been a handsome fellow hasn't he? We do watch Suvivor - one of the few shows we rarely miss.
