For Today
Outside my window it's dark and cold.
I am thinking of when life was better than this. And I tell myself, "snap out of it". Name that movie. (Think Cher).
I am thankful for fast internet, among many other things.
From the kitchen there are dishes yet to do.
I am wearing my gray Polartech yoga pants, a long sleeve pajama top, my sheep slippers and have a blanket wrapped around me, yet I am still cold.
I am creating textured photographs with the process I learned earlier this week.
I am going to donate one of them to our school's Auction this spring.
I am reading other people's blogs tonight.
I am hoping that our lives improve soon.
I am hearing the Super Bowl in the background. I have never liked the hype that's involved with this game.
Around the house it is quiet and the living room is strewn with Geoge's puppy toys.
One of my favorite things is hearing my husband tell me how much he loves me. I haven't heard that lately, though.
A few plans for the rest of the week include sending in my Verizon phone rebate, refilling my husband's prescriptions and dealing with our new health insurance company on several claims they say they will not pay. I'll get it straightened out.
Here is picture thought I am sharing:
This is a macro shot I'd taken of a seashell last year. I added a texture layer to it. I found an entire CD full of macro shots that I'd forgotten about. They're like The Lost Files. Some of them are pretty nice, so it was worth it.
There's another Giveaway and it's over at Miriam Lovell Photography. She's a wonderful photographer who's offering an assortment of her Valentine's Day cards. Check it out!
Until tomorrow, my wonderful friends . . .

I think this is one of the best! I absolutely love this!
I am sorry you are down this morning. I hope that the weather warms up for you...and that your cares are lifted.
I often hear Cher say that in my mind as I picture that scene in one of her movies.....I need someone to say that to me frequently, and if no one sensible is around, why Cher appears to mind with all that frizzy and beautiful black hair and snaps her fingers and says " SNAP OUT OF IT !"
I hope the rest of your Monday is a "snap out of it" type of day.Sheep slippers and quiet sound very comforting to me. I hope your lives do improve soon and your husband's health too.I will pray for you, and I know that sounds cliche and might even seem useless, but it isn't and I will.
Sounds like a morning in Norway before we get the fire going in the fireplace...but I don't have sheep slippers..those sound really nice!!!
What works for me might not work for you but if I was you, I'd have crawled into bed and snuggled with my honey until he told me he loved me...then I'd start my day...
The seashell photo is beautiful..mystical and the texturing transforms it even more into a piece of art..wonderful!! Have a great day and hope you get warmed up!!!
Moonstruck with Cher and Nicholas Cage....I LOVE that movie!!
I also LOVE your site. It inspires me. Your photos are always interesting and observant of the world around you! I enjoy, so much, checking in with your blog each morning to see what is going on! :)
Thank you,
Deb
Moonstruck! I love Cher movies...I guess I love Cher. Grew up watching Sonny&Cher and wanted her hair back then!
Kate, the seashell....well, it looked like a bunny caught down at the bottom of a spiral hole! No, I haven't been smoking the funny cigarettes!!! lol Take a look, y'all! I'm from CA but I picked up y'all from being with these Texans the last three years! :)
Stay warm girl. Hugs, ~Cheryl
...sending you hugs and a strong shoulder to lean on...
We just watched Moonstruck on Saturday night! One of my all-time favorite movies. :)
Long underwear and fleece sweaters are my uniform in the winter. And fleece socks and sheepskin slippers. And lots of hot tea.
((((((((((( HUGS ))))))))))))) for you this morning.
xoxo,
Mary
Ooops, forgot to say how much I LOVE the photo!
Really nice things here!
Sending warm hugs. Love that shell....
BEAUTIFUL picture and I L.O.V.E. ALL of the pictures that you take. YOu have a way to capture the 'soul' in each one that you take!
this is a beautiful photo and do you know the spiral symbol as shown here represents new beginnings, growth, strength and peace, seems to go well with your post- you can search koru.
That's so cool. It looks like a ceiling in some ancient place. Just keep telling your husband how much you love him... it'll come back to you. You're married so it's all the same - sometimes it's your turn and sometimes it's his turn. Right now it's his turn... trust me, he'll remember and reciprocate ten fold some day.
That's an amazing shell.
Catching up on blogs myself tonight.

Every time I look at one of your pictures I think, "wow, now isn't that something!" Today was no different. I love coming here, and I am always inspired. I hope your Monday turns out to be a happy one!
Cheers,
Christine
Love this shot and the texture is perfect ...
Maybe you should put aside the hurt, put your arm around his neck and kiss him, tell him I love you outloud and then to yourself say even when you are being an ass
Moonstruck! -- great movie :-)
enjoyed your post today, Country Girl! I'm sorry you're feeling down. This grey winter weather has been here quite long enough, thank you. Here's hoping for some sunshine and time outdoors very soon -- that always brings me a new outlook!
That seashell shot is magnificent. I wish I could take that square and make it into tile...and then tile my shower. Can you work on that?
I got beat on the Moonstuck guess! I loved that movie! I hope that you are able to get your insurance woes fixed - I know how that can be.
I love Moonstruck.
Love you all, too. Thanks for the kind words that always make me feel good. Thanks for loving my photos. Thanks for being there.

I am praying things will be better soon for you. And he does love you.
You sound lovely, slow and wounded. But my dear, you are. Be well. Get warm.
