It’s a rainy day in Maryland

It’s night as I write this and it’s been raining on and off all day. I’m half-watching Forest Gump for about the two hundreth time and because it’s a quiet soft night and I have absolutely nothing in the world to say, I’ll just post my photo and go.

This one’s from last year at Mother’s Day. I had just bought myself a hydrangea bush and I believe it’s still there at the old place. Little did I know then that in just over a month’s time our whole world would change.

I’m guest hosting on a new blog today. Visit Simply Joyful Photos for the rest of the story. Heather is new to the blogging world and when she asked me to participate in her Friendly Friday post, I agreed.

Have a wonderful Friday. At least school will be a little bit quieter as Thursday was our last day of the school year.

So School’s Out For Summer. Name that artist.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Hi there. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. Yours is one of the blogs I follow but I have to admit I'm pretty irregular on checking in on some of my favourite blogs, but I'm glad I took a peek at yours today. I've been having a really rough time of it lately and your most recent posts and your stories of George have really cheered me up. I think you and your husband are wonderful photographers and I look forward to seeing more pics and reading more tales of George and other things. Thanks again!

Yup...Alice Cooper it is...

Absolutely LOVE all the photos of George! He has GOT to be the most photogenic doggie in the world !!!

Hope it stops raining in MD. My daughter lives in Baltimore and she is hoping for the same.

Have a wonderful day!

Kate, these are beautiful. Thank you for linking to us :). I have to admit that I'm not new to the world of blogging but to the display of a photo blog. I've had my other two for a little while now and upon buying my new camera - I wanted to have my photos larger with the black background to enhance the images. I couldn't do that on my writing blog because I also like changing the backgrounds so often :).

I don't know if you've checked in to your posting today, but there will be comment's for you :) - there is one already from one of my highly admired Photographer friends.

Thank you again, Kate!!

We just had an amazing thunder storm here. It sounded as if it was in the house. It's quiet now and the sun is trying to peep out.

Great post over on Heather's blog. Have a great weekend.

Love that deep, rich blue. And it is raining here in UK too. (this is not meant to be a poem, it just happened!)

Beautiful blue photo! We are finally getting a little relief from the heat we've been having, but no rain yet.

It is rainy here in Alabama as well...has been for the past three days....we had a hail storm on Tuesday. What a mess...and we cannot get to cleaning up for the rain.
Lovely blue and pale violet in this photo!

I watched Forrest Gump last night too. Caught it at the end when he's marrying Jenny.

What a perfect blue picture. I'm excited that the hydrangea I planted last year(and was afraid had died) is coming up this year. Yippee!!!

Now tell me, if school is out, are the two of you going to go on that trip in an RV? You can rent one, you know. Just to get the hang of it. Try a long weekend. George would be a perfect traveling companion.

Yup, rainy here, too. Beautiful hydrangea, Kate. I guess I'd better plant the one I got this year for Mother's Day. Do deer like hydrangeas?

Your photos are amazing! I'm an aspiring photographer so I enjoy them a lot!

And Melanie, I sent you an e-mail.

a quiet rainy night sometimes is good for the soul. i hope today was better. as for me, it was a funeral and some scary news about my youngest niece - hopefully she will be ok though. love this shot - so beautiful.
