My eyes are still a bit dilated from the visit to the optometrist late this afternoon, but it’s not the reason for these filmy, gauzy photos.
The visit was just a check up. The pictures are how I’m feeling, I guess.
The past few days have been absolute bliss, (weather wise) and if it were always this comfortable, life would be me living in Happy Town. In a sort of gauzy, sweet, wonderful feeling, October has been a blessing.
The morning glory blooms are half the size they were last month.
The photo above is layered with a texture from Kim Klassen called Grumge with Text. I first heard of her at Pioneer Woman’s site after reading one of the submissions for an ‘Edit This’ assignment.
Who is this Kim Klassen, Ii thought? Her textures are lovely.
I will say that my heart still belongs to Jerry. (No offense to Kim).
There’s a nest of these bees in the ground by the old dead tree in our backyard. Well, what’s left of the old dead tree. It’s kind of freaky knowing the bees are all in that hole in the ground, but we stay away from it. George has sniffed it and they don’t bother him or Miss Blackie but I don’t trust those bees after what I saw them to do Macaulay Culkin in My Girl.
I came home today to decorated pumpkins in the parking area by the garage. I couldn’t take a photo because my eyes were in no shape to be outdoors, so I’ll have to share tomorrow. I also have a fun header to share that was sent by a blogging buddy, just in time for Halloween.
Do you have a favorite Halloween movie? I think I’ll share mine in the comments.
Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

I've always loved Casper, mainly for the cool house on the Maine coast.

I love the Dracula version starring Louis Jourdan as the Count - a BBC production from the seventies. It's impossible to find. I finally snagged a bootleg copy online a few years back. It's especially creepy - probably because he's so purdy.
I'm a Rocky Horror fan... :)
it's always good to steer clear of bees.
Enjoyable!

"Hocus Pocus" is still a favorite here....mostly sentimental because I'd watch it with my daughter when she was (much) younger.
I'll never forget the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre ~ but i can't say that it was a favorite....there's an old story about that on an old blog:

Uh uh. I don't do Halloween movies. Freak me out. Shoot, comedies freak me out.
Beautiful photos!
We had a big storm here with high winds today, most of the leaves are on the ground now.
My family is watching every scary movie that is on TV, but I just can't watch them. Caspar is about my speed when it comes to Halloween movies!
i put all scary movies into the halloween category....and one of the scariest is the hitcher.....
I like spooky, scary...not chop everybody up in as many ways as you possibly can scary. I loved the Dracula version with Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins!
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown...I'm a sucker for all the Peanuts holiday specials.
I love Kim Klassen and her textures...I took her ecourse on basic photoshop and loved it... she explained it in a way I could understand...I still want to do her class on textures.
I don't enjoy scary movies so Casper sounds like something I would like....any of the Harry Potter movies would be fun too...
It was in the 70's here today! Very unusual!
No, we don't do Halloween here in Australia much. And I wouldn't be watching many scary movies anyway. Sorry, Kate.
But I am glad you mentioned the bees. Because my son has had a swarm of bees swarm in a tree (quite low) for the second year in a row, in his backyard. Fortunately after a few days they take off again.
Fancy being on the Bee Flight Path. Whew, now that's scary! Especially when there are a few small children and associated friends involved. Enough to make grandmother nervous enough, without scary movies!
Cannot bring myself to watch a horror....or anything resembling scariness.
At all.
I am a big old scaredy cat!
Casper and the Adam's Family - that's about it!
I love your bee! do you know they only produce about a spoon and a half of honey their whole life! I have become allergic to them so have a healthy respect too but oh...I do so admire them! So beautiful and industrious in such a little body!
Ann
Oh...and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! That's my favorite!

When I want to be scared, I like the original Halloween movie--that's about it, and I have to watch it with one eye closed, no matter how often I see it. Real life is scary enough, so I don't like horror movies all too much.
By the way, that is a honeybee--not a wasp or other bad character, like a yellow jacket. Honeybees, much like bumblebees, really are fairly gentle, unless you are really disturbing their hive or accidentally step on one. It's a great thing to have honeybees around, they pollinate our food--no fears!
I'm a horror movie fan if they aren't completely stupid scream and gore fests...
Love the Peanuts holiday shows... It's the Great Pumpkin,Charlie Brown!...
Have you seen Monster House? Adorable. Nightmare before Christmas too...
I am a Silence of the Lambs fan... does that count??
Halloween is JUST starting to catch on in Oz... no pumpkin carving in this corner of Qld yet though.
:-)

I am not a big horror movie fan but my two favorite Halloween movies would be "Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and "ET." Guess I am a wimp.....
I'm a horrible weakling when it comes to Halloween movies. I'm a wimp like Nancy! But I'm not afraid to admit it: www.livewithflair.blogspot.com
I'm going to go with Charlie Brown. Horror stuff, not so much.
I love to watch scary movies (when I'm not alone, of course) but don't like them so much once they are over. Haha! But, since my husband is away for a year and I'm a big scaredy cat at night anyway, the only ones I can bring myself to watch this year are Hocus Pocus and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
Although I did love me some Casper back in the day. I haven't seen that movie in so long... I might have to netflix it! :)
A hive in the ground .. scary ..
OOPS .. skimming is not always good ... I missed the question. My favorite Halloween movie .. umm ... I dont think I have one.
I love it when you play with textures, be they Jerry's or Kim's or Shana Rae's...
Favorite Halloween movie? I'm not sure if this is a Halloween movie, but it has a ghost in it:
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. :)
Wonderful photos and post ! My fav movies for halloween is An Interview with a Vampire, with Brad Pit ! Have a great day !
I love your photos...I'm not a Halloween movie type...I do remember as a kid they always showed the Wizard of Oz around Halloween....
I went to the eye doctor a few weeks back and left with HUGE DILATED EYES. It hurt to drive home, even with my sunglasses on. I only let him dilate me every other year because it bothers me so much.
I love scary movies in my younger years... now they cause me stress while watching them and I leave the room. Also give me nightmares, so guess I don't have a favorite to share.

Those hives can be bad news. Beautiful pictures.
You came home to decorated pumpkins? I came home to a Man Cold....
My favorite is the old Don Knotts' movie "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken." Not really a halloween movie, but my favorite.
Love the Halloween-y header! And love the pics, as always.
The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and The Blob.
Love the soft...
I am afraid of all scary movies. But I can handle The Great Pumpkin. I am absolutely in love with Kim Klassen's textures, I took her e-course, the art of texture, she is a wonderful person as well. You should get on her e-mail mailing list, usually every Friday she shares a free high res texture.
The Wizard of Oz.....that witch gets to me everytime....oooh I just can't stand her.....smiles.
PS....love the new look! smiles..
I don't think I ever thought about having a favorite Halloween movie before, but I did enjoy watching Interview With a Vampire! You must have sent some pretty weather up our way, it was beautiful today! xo ~Lili
