I love textures ( and my Giveaway ends 6 PM Wed)

With the days getting shorter, it’s tough to get an afternoon walk in with my favorite pooch while there’s still light at the end of the day. And soon it will be dark when I’m driving home. 

Today, I walked around the property twice and then came inside and played on Photoshop for awhile, fooling around with some pictures I’d taken over the weekend that I didn’t think were all that.

But I’m ok with them now, I guess.



For this, I ran TRA's Rusty Cage action and then followed up with one by Red Leaf Studio called Sweet Umber. I topped it off with a SkeletalMess texture. And now I like it much better. 

I used to be able to do this thing called a mouseover technique to show you what the original version of the photo was when you moved your mouse over it, but since going to Blogger in Draft, I haven’t been able to get the code to work properly.

So here’s the original and the finished version, side by side. I was going for brown tones and by gum, I got it.



I like the SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) version, too.

I fooled around until dinner time when my husband called me to the kitchen.

Never at any point in my life did I ever think I would have someone cook for me every night and for this, I am blessed. And what’s even better is that nine times out of ten, it’s really very good.



Here’s something different. I did this one two ways because when I was finished with the first one, I thought it looked a little heavy-handed. But I sort of liked it that way.

So I did it a second way, using lighter textures and a softer hand.



TRA’s Oh, Snap! action, followed by two SkeletalMess textures, Bokeh2 and Falling Apart.

Which one do you prefer? I mean, if you were forced to answer.

Not that I’m forcing you.
