Change of pace

Raise your hand if you’re getting tired of bird photos here, because I sure am. In the interest of changing things up, I went back into my files and chose a few of my favorite Philadelphia pics to share with you today. I just wanted to see something different today.

My niece lives in Philly, and it’s always fun to visit her, especially when my sister comes along.

Where do all the hippies meet?

Bet you haven’t heard that song in ages.

Love the photos, especially the B & W diner shot and the rooftop:)
This weekend we're sticking close to home, another county fair, maybe a parade and definitely a BBQ:)

We're going to the rodeo Sunday night and watching the municipal fireworks Monday night - hoping Rick doesn't get called out on a veterinary emergency.

Beautiful shots, Kate--as always...and I don't get tired of your bird shots, either.

No plans for the 4th here--I guess old age has really settled in. :(

Too often we don't notice the wonders in our own backyard, so to speak. Great pictures!

Sheesh, these are fabulous travel photos, Kate. Wonderful sense of place and character.

Nothing planned for the 4th although it's going to be sunny in Seattle which is unheard of here for Independence Day. :)

Wishing you a great holiday weekend!

Love these photos, Kate! I've never been to Philly... but Hubby's retirement may end up sending us that way. I love surprises in life!

Have a great evening,

My daughter lives in Philly and I love it there. These pics are great, but I want you to know that I don't get tired of your bird shots!

And I'm seriously considering getting one of those little pools you have :)

...Love the murals - they're stunning! :o) And my fav' photo is the rooftops, so pretty.

...Naked. Air. Baths. Hmmm, I'm not gettin' what you're puttin' down Miss Kate. ;o)

...Going to my Sis's house for the 4th, they live next to a big park that hosts fireworks every year so we just sit in their driveway and watch 'em, other than that, nothing. *sigh*

...Thanks for sharing Philly!

...Blessings :o)

See. I love the birds. But I ADORE your little journeys around the place. Your travel pics rock. Surely you can get someone to pay you for these... or send you to Oz for a travel trip. Heh.

I love all your photos!!! And I love the murals. No plans for the 4th. Living in a heavily tourist area means staying tucked in your home on holidays :) Enjoy your weekend and as a side note I have had one of those pools for years and inspired many of my neighbors to invest in one!!

Well, there is just "nothing like a good bird shot", or in my case "flower shot", but it is nice to diversify sometimes. I just posted a "frog shot"!!!! Great pics of Philadelphia -such an interesting city to visit. Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Mickie :)

LOL.. you are not the only one with a Ben Franklin crush. I never gave the guy much thought other than the obvious history facts until I started blogging, because Ben Franklin love was evident!...

Great trip to Philly! I loved it! Ya gotta love Ben and his baths! What a character he must have been, not to mention brilliant! I also read somewhere that entertained in his underwear!

Happy 4th to you! We're headed for Maine for a relaxing weekend! Then to Topsfield, Ma for a BBQ on the 4th.

Hi there!

I didn't know Philly had this quaint, Old-World European feel to it! Wow!

Just letting you know I wrote a mini-review of a number of blogs I like on my blog and it includes yours. I hope it generates you a little more traffic and interest.

I love all of these photos! I read your line about getting tired of birds and though "I most certainly am not tired of birds" but then I saw the vintage-esque photos of Philadelphia and swooned. :)

I want to travel and you're letting me do it through you! I know there's a blogger meet up in Philadelphia in October but I have no way of knowing if I'll be able to make it (due to practicum in the fall). Keeping my fingers crossed because it looks beautiful!
