Today I don’t feel like doing anything

I feel a little disjointed at the moment, and am thinking that this post is going to reflect that fact, so bear with me, please.

1. Tonight for dinner, I made myself a tomato sandwich on toast. It was get-your-own dinner night and the tomato was from the garden.

2. I don’t care if I look ridiculous lying on a float in a wading pool. The water feels really nice.
3. It would be so nice to have a little money. I could take a long weekend, and jump on a plane and visit friends and family.

4. I haven’t taken a real walk for 5 days. I could use the heat as an excuse, but that’s not the real reason why.

5. The real reason why is that I’m lazy sometimes.

6. Miss Blackie is getting old. I don’t want to think about it.

7. This is George’s position most days lately.

DSC_0579 copy 2

8. This is the reason.

9. I signed on with a professional imaging service and discovered that my monitor needs calibration. Photographers out there – do you calibrate your monitors? What program do you use?

10. Tomorrow I have a hair appointment in Hoitytoityville. I should save the money for vacation but I’m tired of scaring myself when I look in the mirror.

11. Speaking of being lazy, Leonard Nimoy was shooting a Bruno Mars video across the street from my sister’s house in California. She met him and got his autograph and said it’s weird seeing the inside of her friend’s house in a video. This is the Official Alternate Version of The Lazy Song, with Leonard Nimoy below.

12. Some days are just like this, is all I'm sayin'.

Until tomorrow, then . . .

It's okay to feel lazy once in a while, in my book anyways:) I think it's your body's way of telling you to take it easy:) Enjoy and don't feel guilty!

Some days are just like this. Lately I feel as though I have been on a roller coaster. It's not easy. I think you need to grant yourself permission to have these days. I try to keep myself from having these lows, and then they seem to come even harder.... just my thoughts....
Have fun at hoitytoityville... I hope you feel fabulous when you leave!!

What a great idea to lay on a float in the wading pool!

I know what you mean about the hair situation. I have been putting off getting 'something/anything' done to mine because I'm just too cheap to spend money on my hair but I'm also tired of scaring myself as well! *laugh* I guess it's time to do something about it then!

I always love to see George! And how cute that he has 'assumed his position' while staring at the squirrels!

I used to calibrate my computer at work when I was doing graphic design work but that was so long ago that I don't remember the program. If you find a good one I'd love to see a review or post about it!

Have a wonderful, lazy night!

Calibration...yep, we all get there. This is the one I use - and it's even cheaper now than when I bought it. http://www.amazon.com/X-Rite-EODIS2-Eye-One-Display-2/dp/B000JLO31M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302827136&sr=8-1

Two months ago the photography club I belong to had a program on monitor calibration. The scoop: If you're a photographer you should calibrate your monitor once a month! Me, I've NEVER done it. The club purchased Color Monkey (with club discount it was about $500 - yikes!). We were encouraged to "check it out" from the club librarian but I haven't had time yet. I'll be interested to see what other comments you get on calibration.

Monitor calibration ... didn't even know such a thing existed ... wait, I have a Mac laptop does that count for not having to calibrate???? .... ugh!
It's these details that make a girl wished she married a computer nerd!

NOT!

Pamper pamper pamper yourself! It's all there for you tomorrow.

You need money.....I would PAY for that picture of you lying in the wading pool......omg.
Blackie..........well, cats get old, like dogs, you know it's part of life. How old is she?? My mother had cats that lived to be 20+.
George is gonna get a stiff neck.
Just sayin'.

Around here we call them "Joycie" days and as long as we don't have them too often, everythings cool.

I know--I think--how you feel. Yucky.

Tomato sandwiches are wonderful when the tomatoes are from your garden. Really.

It ain't Wednesday yet, Girl! I already confused enough. ;)

...I would love to have a wading pool - that is a great idea! Hmmmm... :o)

...You're probably just needing to disconnect for awhile, you know, recharge. It's okay, we all have to do it...don't be so hard on yourself, 'kay? We all love ya you know... :o)

...George is funny.:o) Salty our Schnoodle runs a squirrel up into the raccoon tube we have around the upper portion of the post of the bird feeder and it's funny because the squirrel sits inside that tube and barks and it echos, loudly. lol... And of course, Salty sits there. And sits there. And sits there. She can drive one crazy with it sometimes...*sigh*giggle* ;o)

...How old is Miss Blackie? We had a sweet barn cat named "Mama Kitty" that came with the house when we purchased it 19 years ago and she was probably around two-four years old then, and we sadly had to have her put to sleep last year due to complications of old age. :o(

...You know, my comments are really long, have you noticed that? Feel free to tell me, "hey tj, put a cork in it!"... :o\

...If I lived closer I would come over with a bottle of wine and we'd sit around the pool. Or hell, sit in it for that matter! lol...

...Hope you feel better - keep your chin up girl! Always remember, "this too shall pass". :o)

...Blessings...

Is the lazy crazy days of summer at your house? It's hot as Haddes down here in southeast Texas! Tomorrow we're supposed to have a heat index of 105. Yikes! I may have to go buy me a pool to float around in and look ridiculous!!!
If you get on a plane to go visit friends, don't forget me! Hugs!

How old is your dog? Storm turned ten a few days ago... I do worry that she's getting older but everyone still thinks she's two or three when they meet her. :D

I have days like that too. Quite often lately actually lol.

Gonna go watch the video now. :)

I use to float in a wading pool..my daughter still does. Nothing wrong with that!
I just told the hubby...tomorrow will be my lazy day...Christmas movies all day long!

You and Beth are cracking me up today! It's like Dave's top 10 list but even better :) I used to get my hair done at Hoitytoityville (b/c that is where the only lady that can cut thin frizzy hair worked). I used to feel guilty and out of place. And that was a useless waste of money. So I started to realize that this makes me happy and I deserve this every bit as the rich folk in there... actually probably even more b/c I work so damn hard. so enjoy your visit and milk it for all its worth. Make sure they give you something to drink: even if it is just ice water :)
and I haven't walked in about 5 years.... so don't feel bad

I don't dare be seen at the public pool! I've been thinking about getting a wading pool for a couple of years now--so this will be the year! I ordered a really good exercise hoop and have been hooping in the backyard where no one can see me! I've had the blahs today too! Hoping tomorrow will be better for the both of us!

I'm pretty wiped out myself, but duty (I mean work) calls.

Somedays I wonder if I should quit...but then who' buy my photographic equipment? Or my shotguns?

Woe is me...

May the spider of contentment spin his webs around you.

Ummm, love that idea of the spider of contentment spin his webs around you from Gail!

Which reminds me of monitor color calibration. I agree, every good photographer either needs, or has one. I'm not such a good photographer (I am trying though) but I'm tired of my photos coming out of the printer looking muddy, when they looked great on the monitor. I have to put a levels or a curves layer on everyone that I print to get it halfway decent!

I've been doing research, and I've decided that most of the pros suggest Sypder3pro, or even the lower cost option, Spyder3elite. So when I'm ready (meaning have the extra cash that I don't need to spend at my own Hoitytoityville hair salon or cosmetics counter) that's what I'll be getting.

I'm going through a lazy spell this week too. I think it's the heat. But good news is lower humidity today - I may even get outside for a while. I envy your solitude and privacy.

some days ARE just like that.....and that's okay. we've all been there done that.
although, if i lived close by, i'd sneak onto your property while you were in the wading, armed with my water gun and blast you with it....then you'd be laughing and your worries or disjointedness would disappear. i'm a good friend that.

and calibration....hmmm, i've heard about it, but wait until friends like you do things i don't really know enough about before i try it too :)

although, if it's for printing at home....well i never do that. i trust my camera shop to do all of that for me. i guess if it's for something else, i might have to listen to why i should do it :)

I just knew there had to be a song for the way I spend a lot of my days! I'm retired, live with two cats; and, as long as I feed them, they don't complain how I spend my days.

Kate enjoy some down time. I sure do when I need it and need it alot lately. Not sure why and have been out with my camera alot. Get out there . Your photots are beautiful. I love the view though your lens and the what you share.
I have heard of the monitor thing .
May have to save for the software. Its alot of money. If I sold anything it would be a must and right now its not.

My husband and I use a Spyder to calibrate our monitors and printers (they need calibration also). http://spyder.datacolor.com/product-mc-s3elite.php

P.S. My husband is a professional photographer - that's why I mentioned that he used it. You can see his work at www.kensphotographs.com.

I've been pleased with Spyder - we also cross platforms as I use a Windows machine and he uses Mac. The Spyder is actually a piece of hardware. We haven't replaced it for quite a while, we just keep updating the software for it.

Wow, you know your getting old when your tv studmuffins look like crabby old men. One of the joys of living alone and working at home, I dont have to wash my hair every day or get dressed! Best part about leaving the office world was getting to sleep as late as I want too!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! I also appreciated the compliment about my husband's photography. He really does do beautiful work.

I did try to link my E-mail to my ID as you suggested, but there seems to be a difference between blogger and Wordpress that it didn't work. I did recently get my own domain name, so I will play with it some more when I have time.
