Driving home from the yarn shop (read: wine shop. did i actually say that out loud?) early this afternoon, I noticed how bleak the landscape was. It's because today is pretty gray, but there were patches of color that cheered me just to look at them.
The birds enjoy the berries too, and today we noticed they were really chowing down at the bird feeders we have in the backyard. They must know the weather is coming soon and they're filling up.
My husband took the photo of the Red-bellied Woodpecker shown here. You can't see the small spot of red on his belly, but this is the best shot of him.
Well, it's back to knitting for me. Like I said, I do enjoy wintertime. How about you?

Hi there. I came over to visit from PW's site and LOVE your blog! The woodpecker picture is awesome. I actually recognize your name from posts you've made on PW's site. Nice blog you have here. I haven't read it all yet, but the photos are good. And I am laughing out loud at the post about the farting at the chiro's office! You are funny!
I'll be back for return visits. Thanks!
...Ooooo, I love the first photo with the bright red berries! Very pretty!
...I too love winter but unfortunately my body doesn't. I love the fact that everything nestles down for the season and we do too - time for the warm old quilt, a nice fire and a hot steamy cup of tea!
...Thanks for sharing your lovely photos! Stay warm - it's 9 degrees here in Missouri! Brrrrr...
...Blessings... ;o)
I like wintertime, too. Nice blog you have here.

I absolutely HATE winter. The cold, the snow, the ice, the bitter winds. I hate the moment it starts to the moment it ends. Did I mention how much I hate winter yet? LOL
If it wasn't for DH's job relocating us up here to MI, I'd still be down in Texas... :)
Winter can be tough, both on your body and your soul. Humble Origins, it's good to see you here again. You were the first person outside of my family to leave a comment on one of my posts when I began this blog!
And Christine, I hope spring comes soon for you. I'd be missing Texas desperately, too. Stay warm. It will be over soon!
I love the picture of the bird. The red on his head is such great contrast to everything else.
